Hmmm. Two ordinary performances in two weeks, yet two wins. Perhaps it's more of a reflection on the opposition.

I don't think so wittyfan I thought Manly and the Knights played well. Our game plan at the moment isn't to play flash footy I see it as wearing down the opposition and its working.

even though newcastle slowed play down by taking ages to get off in defence. hardly any penalties for it too.

That is something that is really p!ssing me off, this whole thing about the game being better with little to no penalties and the fact that the SOO ref is almost always the one who doesn’t give penalties out.

The idea is to speed up the game but it is actually slowing it down because the defense lay all over the tackled player and know they won’t be pinged for it. They should give penalties when rules are broken pure and simple.

What's that old cliche? Good teams make their own luck. Mistakes got us in trouble, but I thought it was the desperate defence kept us in the game.

Simmo had a shocker in the second half against the high ball. However, his knocking the ball loose from Lowrie over the line saved us.

Agree with first sentence but the latter didn't actually happen. If it did it would of been a line dropout. It was correctly ruled a knock on and a 20 metre re start. The effort was good by Simmo I'll grant but he wasn't anywhere near the ball. Lowrie dropped it cold.

The reason I think Simmo may have knock it out was the speed the ball moved, I didn't see any movement from Lowrie that would have caused the ball to shoot out backwards like that.

Even the video ref doesn't pick up on everything.

I'm pretty sure force of Simmos hand hitting the ball ot the hand carrying the ball knocked the ball loose. Smith and Daley thought so. I'd like to watch the replay again. It wasn't an intentional strip, just a hard hit designed to knock the ball loose, which was successful. A loose carry by Lowrie, so therefore I think a knock on by Lowrie was the correct decision. You see it all the time players hitting hard into the ribs designed to force an error.

Just got back from the game, the atmosphere was electric at the end you would swear that we won the grand final.

Bit of controversy with the CSSC and a beer throwing incident, security everywhere but I think it was the supporters behind us.

Three disallowed tries to Newcastle just goes to prove Andrew Johns is not God.

What a feeling walking out of that stadium with us the winners. I hate Newcastle supporters and we could hold our heads high.

Amazed at the amount of Novocastrian sharkies fans.

Anyone just watch Cows and Drags?

I reckon we'll be at full strength versus the Broncos. If the NSW SOO selectors make changes in the pack it won't be Gallen, O'Donnell back and was great whereas Gallen probably played himelf out of contention.

Good!!
