SG Ball squad

Matts had a good win in a real quality game to finish the season 7-2 and jump Saints to finish in 5th or 4th - doesn't matter which because the semi will be against Parra in the 4th v 5th game either way.
It was a great game for Mats. Only about 5 penalties all game and great ball security from both sides. Sione, Tevita and Travis Edwards were the difference, and i think we can go a few more games yet.

Ball won a good game to probably finish 9th and miss out on the finals with a 4-5 record. Shame - our last 3 games have been impressive wins and we could have held our own in the finals.

They must be going with the new semi format because 5th placed Knights (7-2) play their first semi against 8th placed Doggies (4-3-1)

Knights up 18-10 at halftime in Matts.
Both the top sides - Penrith and Souths - have lost in the first round of finals.

Not sure how the finals will work this year, but last year if you lost you were out.

Knights won 28-16 in Matts.

Both top sides, Penrith and Souths, lost.

Our side has had a lot of injuries this year. If we can get the bulk of the squad on the park for the finals we can win this thing. The top ranked side now seems to be Parra, who we flogged in Cessnock two weeks ago.

Sione has been on one leg most of the season and only playing half games - but i have the feeling he is coming good for the finals.

Tevita played the worst game i've seen from any player in our first round loss to Penrith - he turned the ball over about a dozen times by just trying to do too much on every play. He has finally hit some good form too i think.

Tyrone Walsh is gone for the season, but Travis Edwards has moved from 5/8 to halfback, and I think Edwards is a better halfback than Walsh anyway. Walsh tries all the clever kicks his brother does, but he just doesn't have them down pat yet. Edwards keeps it simple and does what he does well.

Is Travis Edwards any relation to Jared Edwards?
They are both Aboriginal, but they don't look alike and Jared is from Toronto and Travis is from Singleton - so probably not - or maybe cousins or something.
Jared is a big, athletic winger - Travis is a skinny little half or 5/8.
If Travis looks like anyone it's a 16 year old Will Smith.

Harold Matthews are in the final. Won their semi final today 28-24 against Souffs

Premilimary Final isnt it? Parra and Balmain, who won week one, didnt play this week.

I think I heard we play Parra next week for a place in the GF, Although looking at the results it would make more sense if we played Balmain.
