The only push to get Blackett into the 1st grade squad should come from Shane himself and the way he is going to do it is knuckle down and play good footy for Windsor so the coach has no alternative but to pick him

Shane needs to consult Jason Bulgarelli and Nathan Smith on the finer points of being Elliot's pet

Bah, all he has to do is put in a decent grubber at training and he will start at half back.

I'm pretty sure that is the only way Luke Lewis could have got the job...

i have heard Elliott got a street directory for Christmas with only the streets of Windsor included in it.So there is a strong chance he may realize we actually have players at Windsor.Blackett deserved a NRL contract
And Bob he is working hard .

Shane Blackett: Ready, willing and able to prove a point in 2009 after a less than stunning season this year.

Be that as it may, High Street whispers are that a few other clubs may be interested in securing his services for 2010.

pic; Penrith Interactive. A great place to belong to.

Shane is working hard to secure a future i hope it is as a panther .But if its as a bunny so be it.Richardson can spot talent at South sadly thats lacking at Penrith Q you may be interested he is spending new years at Bondi.I reminded him its roosters territory he responded by saying they cant dodge carona bottles.Could fit in wellat the bunnies dislikes roosters

Hi Murray, happy new year to you and all fellow panther fans.
I don't doubt Shane is working hard but if you promote Shane who would you drop out of the 1st grade squad, Paulo, Penese, Grant, McKendry

Happy new year Mob and to all my neighbours here in the catchment.

I missed the new year last night but as I dont drink, I am up and at them this morning.

Its a beautiful day outside, not too hot this early. All across the Penrith region, parks and picnic areas will be full of happy young families enjoying the day.

As far as recruitment is concerned, the clubs maintain files on hundreds of different players in all grades etc.

As the worlds greatest rugby league catchment, no doubt the Penrith players find themselves under more scrutiny than most. That is why the panthers constantly lose good juniors, lured to other clubs on the promise of big money and stellar careers.

Having said that, the club has its agents spread widely across the catchment, in schools, in junior clubs, everywhere. A lot of these agents are volunteers and are quick to report a promising player even at the tender ages of 13 and 14.

The fall-out rate of juniors is massive. Maybe over 99% will never see the NRL at all, in any club.

Those who make NYC or the Wolves are indeed elite players. Whats more with the average number of NRL career games being 50, these guys have a better chance than most of catching the eye of the NRL coach.

Bob the top squad had several who got contracts ahead of Shane

Pee wee moke. Again rarley on the field
Danny chia With pulutua re-signing he has no chance of seeing first grade
gavin cooper was signed why.Any position he can play is covered

There where several others in different positions who gained contracts.Bob i understand you guys at the club can not sign everyone .But mark my words we will regret not signing Shane

Even Elliott would be up with technology. You should have tampered with the Navman murray with Shane Blacketts voice directing him to windsor only.

Happy new year everyone.

it now appears they have found a extra spot in the top squad for Steve Meridith who is currently training with the first grade squad. This is confirmed .Since he is training with the top squad i would think he is contracted to penrith not Windsor

I don't know where you got the stats from. Shaney boy turns 21 soon. Went to St Doms. Many people don't know that he was one of the best javelin throwers in NSW in later high school. Also has a reasonable appendage on him (not as big as mine though) The Moyle got me for about 2cm and I've still got heaps left ( he was only supposed to get the foreskin, but got carried away and sliced off about an inch and a half of PERISTOIKA. I used to be such a nice bloke too.

so are you saying Shane never got a first grade contract through officials fear that with Shane and Jarrod in the showers the other players may fear they are lacking a few inches

Inch-a-phobia has brought an abrupt end to so many promising careers.

Many clubs now how counsellors for this unsightly problem.

Was a bloody good night too mob.

Hadn't seen the big fella for a while & he certainly looks to have put some beef on.

Hungry for NRL this year.

Giddy up! (excuse the horse related pun). That's exactly why Jarrod couldn't get a start last year. The rest of the team were going home to have showers, and the commrardery was shot to pieces. Blackett was bragging that he was a pretty close 2nd, but I saw it, and it looked like a piece of chewing gum after 3 days at Thredbo in July.
