Will there be any sharkies fans travelling to Olympic Park in Round 8. Please don't make me the loan sharkies fan. I live in Melbourne and can't wait for the game.

I did that a few years back when we lost at the MCG. Not a bad trip but I'll be on duty this year. Bloody too cold down there anyway.

There is usually about 2 or 3 that travel down from the Army, foz usually attends and mermaid came along last year too. We usually get tickets to about halfway on the eastern side opposite the tunnel. It's a great laugh geeing up the storm fans and supporting the boys.

Do we know what day it is? AFL fans know prior to the season what day to travel but we mere NRL fans are kept in the dark as usual to appease channel nine. How the hell do you plan a trip to places like Melbourne without getting ripped off?

According to the NRL site the game day has not been appointed so if I want to book well ahead and get a good deal I will have to wait until someone decides what day it's on. Check out the draw:

Round 6 BYE

Sharks v Broncos
Round 7
Sat 23 Apr 7:30PM
Toyota Park

Sharks v Storm
Round 8
29, 30 April, 1 May
Olympic Park Melbourne

Sharks v Warriors
Round 9

Members Equity, Perth

v Raiders
Round 10
13, 14, 15 May
Canberra Stadium

Sharks v Panthers
Round 11
20, 21, 22 May
Penrith Football Stadium

Round 12 back at Shark park. How important does that make the clubs decision to play in Perth?

I've done the Melbourne game a couple of times. With the cheap flight deals that are available Syd-Mel these days, it's pretty easy to do.

Since I'm going to Perth though, Melbourne might be off the agenda this year...

Apparently the Logies are on that weekend so anyone that plans on going had better checkout the accomodation situation. Even though I had a great time last year, I won't be going this to Melbourne this year but will be going to the Canberra game.

Same same. I can afford it but my Mrs likes holidays that don't involve the NRL draw aswell so no Melbourne.

I have seen footy (NRL) at Olympic Park, The MCG and The Teltsra Dome down there though. So they are all ticked off.

I hope we get a game at Erricson next year cause I haven't seen footy in NZ yet.

As a local I will be there as I have been every year from 2000 onwards.

There are always a group of Sharkies in the Eastern Stand (the one the TV sees), and last year I had alot of fun yelling out "Kimmorley is King" whenever he got the ball to coincide with the Bronx Cheer they would give him, even post-match when we won for the first time since 1999 last year I was grandstanding about that, best way to rile them all up.

Hope we have another good contingent this year.

I guarantee a good night at Olympic. Also had a few good ones at ericcson Macca, it's a blinder of a trip and an awesome, if a little intimidating ground to watch footy at. The lack of wins we have shared there the past few years makes the wins even more enjoyable, I still remember vividly the pouring rain ( it always does) as Mitch knocked one over from the sideline to win there about 5 years ago !

Come on Mermaid, make the trip again this year, the cold beers at the pub opposite flinders street station, the walk across fed square, giving Molly Meldrum shit about following the storm, the nice walk down the river bank to Olympic and the half empty stand where every bit of support is heard by the sharky players.Last year Simmons of all people stood up two defenders to score a 40 metre effort and loved every minute of our cheering.

If you cannot make Melbourne, make townsville or brissy, the think you've met some good people in your life, the bunch of core supporters from QLD who follow the sharks and who take time out to come to a game are f**king incredible, better people you won't meet in a lifetime and oh how we danced last year when our boys gave the fancied broncos a touch up at ANZ. and oh how the secrurity tossers backed down when they realised we were serious when we said that there ain't no law against cheering for your side, no matter what the strung up prick bronco season seat holders behind us said thought !

I am hoping to go to traditional graveyard Bruce Stadium to see us get the monkey off the back but the way you guys are talking it sounds like Melbourne is the go! Will have to check the prices, (and hope my bloody bonus gets paid on time!)
