Shane Flanagan could take Cronulla Sharks to court - report
By WWOS staff

Ex-Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan could take his former NRL club to court according to News Corp.

Flanagan resigned from the Cronulla coaching position last week after being deregistered in December for breaking the rules of his 12-month peptide suspension which prevented him from contacting club officials during his ban.

Flanagan claims the majority of emails he sent were in response to correspondence initiated by Cronulla staff.

It is understood Flanagan has engaged a legal representative about all options open to him, which may include legal action against his former club.

Sharks chief executive Barry Russell told the publication he hadn’t heard from the club’s former mentor and had not not heard of any move by Flanagan to take legal action against the club.

It was Russell’s self-reporting of salary cap issues that led to the NRL uncovering emails from Flanagan to the club during the year he was suspended.

Cronulla officials have reportedly distanced themselves from their former coach, who is dealing directly with the NRL in relation to his appeal against his de-registration.

Flanagan’s submission is due at NRL headquarters by tomorrow.

The NRL will assess Flanagan’s submission before making a decision.

There is no time frame on when that decision will be reached.

Flanagan may be forced to England to coach before a possible return to the NRL.

Not another person that has been wronged by Cronulla.

Cronulla is wrong-doing the wrongers. Double and triple wronging all the way down.

Of course Flanno has consulted a lawyer.

He would have learnt to do this due diligence at the NRL governance course he was forced to attend.

Just like Luke Foley was going to take the ABC to every court in the nation. To the penny dropped that he was guilty and maybe he should slip quietly off into the sun set and maybe join one nation down the track like Mark Latham
