Their loans are a combination of secured and unsecured. As long as the guys with unsecured loans don’t call them in they’ll be ok u til january when their appeal for the $800k fine is heard. The $3mill secured loan is fine as that isnt due until the next development payment. How their cash flow is going if the alleged losses last year are true is another question, especially if they have had to pay redundancies to the ten staff let go. On the plus side they will have had a income boost from membership roll overs and Christmas merch sales, not sure what time of year the nrl grant gets paid?

On another site, about a week ago, there was a story about League signing a Rugby Union prodigy and how he was going to play for Redcliffe.

Somebody in the comments on the article referenced a rumor that Redcliffe had been told to be on standby if the Sharks fell over.

Maybe it makes a bit more sense now.

Finances, off field dramas, no sponsors want a bar of them, an aging squad that is disappearing and being replaced by 2nd hand unwanteds from other clubs like Woods and Johnson, plus now they have lost their coach and have another 800k worth of nothing debt on their books.

I used to push for the Sharks to be wrapped up a lot before they won the title, then I eased off them a bit thinking they had turned a corner......Welp.
