In todays RLW "the mole" has stated that the sharks are also chasing Matt Prior from the dragons aswell as Luke O'Donnell and Michael Gorden which we all already know about.

No to both patten and Ryan.

I think patten only has england as an option on his contrac anyway, still has a year left.

Prior would be a great pickup.

Today's paper said dogs are chasing millington, could free up som money for him.

I have a lot of time for Patten, don't know if his heart would be in it for the Sharks though.

Cheers

I bloody well hope not, Millington has been having a good year, worth hanging on to.

I'd like us to keep Milo.

Gee a O'Donnell, Tupou and Gallen as a backrow with Dougie and Snowden is an awesome pack. We just need another prop hence Prior would be awesome if he gets squeezed out.

I have a lot of respect for Patten and Andrew Ryan. Both wonderful players in their own right, and deserve to collect a nice pay cheque from a couple of ESL clubs. Patten in particular will tear them up, just like Hodgson has. Too much class.

Its another smart move by the Dogs though. Release two of your older, more highly paid guys who would be leaving soon regardless and give yourself a chance to have a crack at the Storm off casts.

As for us, Matt Prior would be a wonderful signing, though I'm not sure whether we'd play him at prop or 2nd row. Maybe a bit of both? Michael Gordon would fit right in at the club as well.

LOD... is getting on. Wouldn't say no, but I would prefer Prior for sure. Neilson is good- at the worst he makes solid 3/4 line depth if we get someone else or Wright/Fergo step up in the centres. And an ex-Shark.

Cap is going up by 300k. They may not have to release anyone.

I'd like to know who are we releasing to be chasing 4 or 5 new players.

If we had him this weekend i'd be playing him at centre instead of Tautai...

I think he will be a second rower in years to come.

300k wont cover gaz if the knights are really throwing the kitchen sink at him.
Do many players have clauses in their contacts for when the salary cap is increased therefor increasing their value in the NRL??

The 300k increase will be gobbled up quick smart by he highest paying players crying poor.

EVERY team will have the extra space and money so that will push prices up. We will still continue to see players leave for more money.

The cap should be raised, but prioroty should be given to those on match payments and minimum amounts first.

Saffy has already joined the Rebels, Priddis won't be there, and a couple of Nuffies like Thorby, Bosden etc can be freed up. Costigan is the only profile player that may leave, either dogs or broncos. The extra 300k takes care of everything else.

Don't fear shark fans I heard baldy in an interview beofre the AGM say that the sharks will have no trouble attracting superstars next year.

Isn't it good to hear our club linked with player signings once again! As long as we don't sign another $250k Cuthbo or $200k Darren Mapp.
