sharks in city country

well i'm glad and i hope it fires the boys up to prove a point where it really counts, in the premiership. but while i'm just not into rep footy anymore, it must be a goal for the players.

as such this is really an absolute disgrace. o'donnell, maitua, riddell, menzies all ahead of gallen ? yeah, right. sure they are. riddell ?!?! the selectors are rubbish.

how many dragons and bulldogs are in the teams ? and how have they been travelling ? what a total joke !

dykes is twice the player braith is. not just because i'm sharks but because he wipes the floor with his bi-atch ass every time he plays him. covell also deserves a run after his season. i wonder if they even bother to watch any sharks games ?

country did themselves no favours leaving bailey out either. it's not like hasn't played successfully at every level, isn't in great form and hasn't outplayed ryan, simpson and every other country backrower all season. their loss.

you'd think at least at this level they'd pick on form and be willing to reward bright young players with the recognition they deserve and see how they go in a 'limited' rep level. instead they go and screw up the whole thing and have shown up this game for the mockery that it is.

think i'll be watching super 12 that night

Meaningless, pointless game anyway that just gives the advantage to QLD.

I agree. I am all for proper rep games, such as Origin and international matches, but this game is a waste of time and just puts further stress on players who have to back up later that weekend.

I'd only support this game if it put on a seperate weekend. Then QLD could have one also, and NZ could get to play their much talked about Auckland vs the South Origin match that the NRL clubs wont sanction. The Pacific islands could all play each other as well giving a weekend of a rep footy to still please Fox Sports and Channel Nein.

If they ever reduce the comp to 22 rounds then this may be a chance, but in the mean time it's crazy that elite players are made to backup like this.

This is good no players Stevens at risk, dont worry our players will make Australian team end of year, they always pick players from winning Premership team, there will be sharks throughout both aussie and kiwi test team

I can't see Stevens making the long haul to Perth whereas he should only have to get to Shark Park. We are lucky he was the only one picked for this waste of time and potenial for injuries.

Good on the Dragons. As Daley said, the've been the form side of the comp the last 2 weeks,so they fully deserve to dominate the selections for this game.

Eric Grothe (Parramatta)

aaaaaaaa hahahahahahaha

Hang on let me compose myself..............aaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha.

That, plus all the Dragons who got selected, just sums up the type of player you have to be to get selected for City Vs Country.

you really cant blame them going with menzies as he is an established rep player that always performs well

menzies getting on now though and it will only be a season or 2 before gallen inherits the role

Gallens omission is a disgrace as he is clearly the best lock (on form) this year.

But its good news for us.

Maybe Stevo will cop a 1 game suspension for his wedgie? Then we will be full strength for Saturday :)

The Gallen non selection is an absolute disgrace!
They actually picked Reni Maitua ahead of him on the bench.

City/ Country is a farce anyway so I'd rather one of our gun players not get injured in a meaningless game. But Paul Gallen must be shattered.

As for Stevo why would he bother putting in when he knows Ricky won't pick him. But he'll play it tough because he's a true professional. But I don't think we should be playing him against the Warriors. He'll be stuffed and I'm sure he can do without the 4 hour plane flight after the match.

Stevo has retired from rep footy after he was embaressed with the amount of time he spent on the field in origin by that bum Goose Gould.

Stevens and Covell will not play for us this weekend. The decision was already made before selecitons that players picked will not travel to perth.

Too many grey areas, cannot train with the team all week, then no guarantee of them getting through unscathed, Long travel for them too close to the game.

raper preferred to pick his team Tuesday and train them together and fly them over together on Thursday. It also reduces the need for an 18th AND 19 th man to travel over on thursday incase of injury to covell or stevo on friday.

Makes me kinda glad bails , dykes and gal missed out,

I feel for Gallen but would prefer to see him line up for us than for whoever in this stupid fixture.

The slectors may have actually done the game a favour by picking so many Dragons, if they don't back up and end up losing then maybe they can wrestle the wooden spoon from Newcastle's cold dead hands!
