Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has confirmed that the Sharks have made inquiries about luring Sonny Bill Williams and Quade Cooper to the NRL, and he believes the move could be the saviour of the club, if successful. As revealed in last Saturday's Herald, the Sharks asked Lance Thompson - a recent addition to Cronulla's coaching staff - to contact the star duo's manager, Khoder Nasser, about the possibility of them switching codes. ''Lance is good mates with him [Nasser], so I just asked him to see where they were at and what their plans were,'' Flanagan told SinBin. ''We would probably have to sell a floor of the leagues club to be able to afford them but it is the sort of thing that could turn our club around. If they were to come it would create massive interest for the club and sponsors would want to get on board.'' Cooper is set to sign a one-year extension with the ARU that would see him off contract again at the same time Williams's agreement precluding his playing for another NRL club before 2013 expires.

So the coach is now the CEO?

We have as much chance of attracting those two as we do Steve Rogers making a return to first grade.

That's it, keep giving the whole RL world reason to keep on laughing at us - f**k me. Why does Irvine let shyte like this happen over and over?

Speaking of CEO's - so who do we send to the CEO shindigs, like the one other day when they voted to keep MNF?

I saw this article and laughed. Suppose 2012 recruitment is now over as we are saving for SBW and Cooper. SBW paid $700k of his own money to get out of the NRL. They would be looking for $1million + deals and would get them in European Union. We are stuck with the likes of Wade Graham and Dean Collis.Cant wait for 2012 , the inbetween year (number 41) where we save up. Dont suppose Tinkler would be interested in SBW. Probably go there for less.

Why bovver...we'd 'nearly' sign em and then they'd go to a club that still had plenty of dosh to stay under the cap. A club like Newie or the Tits or Souffs. Used to be the Donkeys, the Storm and the C0cks.

Or maybe the Stinking Stains could find a couple more pies to offer them like they did with Spaz

No it isn't.

But coming out in public to say that you enquired, and then the very next sentence admit there is no real possibility of it...

That's just f**king geniused.

Flanaghan went on to add, " The course I've been undertaking for the past 6 months on stating the bleedin' obvious is really paying dividends. Also, I'm not interested in keeping city or international players from our game at the club, I find it far more realistic to chase internationals from other codes who wouldn't come to the Shire even if we were to provide them with a 100 virgins a year for the rest of their life. I believe that is what the supporters expect from me, so they will be happy to hear i have asked barry Andrews to contact Wayne Rooney's manger. he may not want to play on the wing for us as we'd have to sell NSW to afford him, but just imagine the sponsore we could get if he agrees."

Flanaghan then bid the media a fond farewll before retreating to the running track to prepare for Sunday's loss.

You'd prefer him to get caught out lying?

I think you will find he hasn't actually called a press conference here.

I would not care if we had some decent signings or plans even for 2012. Saying we are chasing these players for 2013 is just pissing in our own pockets.

In other news I am testing the water to see if I can get a blowjob from sasha gray in 2015.

Im all for approaching these two guys but reality is they wont come here and its just a marketing ploy by their manager to bump up their price tags for rugby.

Are we seriously that stupid to spend half our cap on these 2? Surely we can't be....then again
