Gee it's exciting to hear all these youngsters coming through, lets hope we keep the right ones.

I agree with Sooper,

Feleti could have been long gone by now if he chose to. Apparently he was impressed with the chat he had with hagan last year and decided to stay. Being played in 1st grade now, I can only see him leaving if someone came in with a ridiculous bid of 200k a year.
Don't be surprised if manly do this either, they still have $5 million under the cap to spend;-)

I heard Bozo on Hadley's show talk of Green. He said that Manly have had him in his site's for a few years and have watched him grow as a player under the fine Parramatta development program.

FFS these clubs just stand by the sidelines and pick the junior talent like vultures on a carcass. Parra should seriously receive some sort of salary cap credit for developing juniors. Likewise, Manly should get cuts to theirs. :fist:

Manly are quite literally merkins of the earth...they cannot develop a player on their own without picking the eyes of other clubs, they did manage to scab through the Penrith ranks and get a top centre, i think his name is Junior Ahio...they are scabs...literally.

Yeah it's an absolute joke.

What would happen if parra and other clubs with strong development programs said stuff this we won't do it anymore. Where would the juniors come from then?

There definately should be some system in place to benefit clubs who spend to develop their juniors.

I'd say you should have 20% of the money paid to a home grown talent not included in the cap.

Then you would see all clubs get their act together

I agree and saturday has shown that we will be proned to losing a few of these kids to lazy clubs who refuse to develop a player to save their lives so they depend on us, Penrith and Wests Magpies.

it's a sad joke.

I agree, but what's even more annoying, is the fact that we don't & or can't hold onto the majority of these exceptional juniors, plus our elite experienced players long enough to win a premiership, as say the Dogs, Panthers, Tigers, Roosters, and others have done, for what now has turned out to be more then 20 years.

Yeah, Yeah, I know all you who live comfortably with mediocrity, point to the salary cap as a touch stone to shake off the pain of FAILURE, but it doesn't seem to be hurting the other teams that WIN the Grand Final now does it. And some more then once since Parra last won one.

What's the difference between them and us, other then our overwhelming superiority over most clubs in junior talent, money and facilities. We have a handicap no other club has or could succeed with.
Dare I say it...

there's absolutely nothing wrong with our club other than the fact that they stay within the sallary cap guidelines.

* Junior development is up there in the best off the league.

* Training facilities are also up there with the most professional in the NRL, the personal of Craig Catterick and Haydon Knowles are up there as the most respected in the country, they look after Boxing stars, Soccer stars and cricketers...the equipment they use is second to none.

* The mediacl staff are also up ther with the best in the land and basically the reason why blokes like Tahu, morrison, Stringer and Pearson came to the club is because we are the best in managing injuries..Stringer reckons we're the best club his been to, Morrison regrets not making the move earlier in his career even Garry Freeman was once quoted as saying that had he knew we had the facilities we did he would of been happy to go to Parra straight from Balmain.

there's nothing mediocre about our facilities and structure...you can argue that it may of been mediocre on the field at various times.

I dont think anyone on this forum execpts mediocrity Ram, thats why we are constantly calling for peoples heads when we lose. On the DF issue, yes I agree he is a bit of a wank, especially in the treatment of former eels ect ect....

As for the juniors, it will be a case of 2 doesnt go into one, for example, we won't be able to keep Green,Finch,Keating,Smith,Maloney so someone will need to leave to promote their careers. If you want to keep all the players in the club, then the only way that can happen is if we privatise our club and every club and get rid of the salary crap.

Can you see that happening? I think not!

there's alot of influence in Cronulla coming from Jim Dymock who is his Tongan coach and hero and just so happens to be Cronulla's assistant coach ;-)
there's that and there's also that he wants to play lock or 5/8. the club seem to be keen on him playing 2nd row.

i hope the bloke stays. someone else mentioned he is happy now he's in the nrl.

the biggest problem is the halves and who to keep. finch was meant to be our major signing this year but hasn't done much (i know new club and combo blah blah but williams and jeremy smith seem to be going ok). there are whispers of tim heading to the broncos (take that as just a rumour for now. hopefully it stays just a rumour). blake wants to play firsts and we have a great pairing in keating and hodkinson coming through.

every few years it seems there is some new gun pairing coming through. the club pretty much need to figure outwho they want there and work for it (personally i want green and smith). they are both young and i think go well on the field together.

i don't see any sense in letting players go now because another combo is coming through. when the young players get there the club can figure it out but for now the future of green, smith and mateo needs to be addressed.

eelavation, I think you have misread my rant. I agree with almost everything you said. The only difference between our opinions here is, I don't believe that we will ever win a premiership again with DF in charge of our club. So far for more then 20 years now unfortunately I am right. :(

whilst you have grave concerns about the future of the club in administrative level and you may not be alone at the end of the day the guy concerned doesn't play for us, nor does he run the water, coach the side, train the side, treat the players, feed the players and advise them of their future..

so I'm still not sure where you're coming from...

I think its all about making the right decisions, and we have made some poor ones like Bobcat, Tonga and Schif and plenty more

The thing is, we have 4 junior teams and they wont all fit into one senior NRL team when they are all old enough, so it stands to reason that we are gonna loose some

I am happy that we are not making any big signings and we are investing further in our youth, but we now need to make smart decisions on which one of the half and 5/8 combinations that we are gonna keep, as well as a few other positions

Bulldogs lost Johnathan Thurston because they elected to keep Anasta. That was the biggest blunder ever. Parra should learn from this.

Very True. We must keep both Timmy & Blake.
