That was my first thought as well, but he will be playing under the Australian coach.

And does that make him the 1000th person to be compared to SBW in the last 4 years?

I think the best comparision to SBW came prior to Round 1 this year....

Shaun Kenny Dowell = The first player to debut with 2 first names since Sonny Bill Williams!

You only have to look at the team Folkes has picked this year to see this, Millard is in the team over Emelio purely on the fact he cost a bundle. Cutler over Utai for an extended period :sarcasm: I suppose it had nothing to do with the fact Utai was up for contract renewal....easier to bump the price down when your stuck in premier league.

Utai was injured at the start of the year... Cutler made the most of his time in first grade scoring 6 tries in 4 or 5 games... Utai got his place back but has re-injured himself again.
Millard has been solid without spectacular, last weekend he was great though (Against the Knights) and is improving every game.

He wouldn't leave the Bulldogs for a 200,000 incentives contract... Most of the $200,000 would be base. This reminds me of Soward next big thing turns out to be the next big dud under Stuart.

I very much doubt that. Dont fall for the media hype.

No club would pay $200,000 base salary for someone who has never played first grade.

I would say that the chance to earn big money as well as play under the Australian coach would have been the big attractions.

Anyway it happens all the time clubs poaching other clubs juniors stars from under them before they can crack first grade or when they are fringers.

And this guy buying hyped by the media like this is insane. It cant be doing him any good at all

The storm were going to give Joel Moon 200k and he stayed with the Broncos.

My point being that I think he has a better chance of first grade at the sharks than the dogs.

Millard was poor at the start of the year, granted he was good against the knights but how did he keep his spot for 8 rounds? I was under the impression that Utai spent quiet a few weeks in prems? Why? Folkes is set in his ways, how often is he out and the junior rep games?

Gavin Orr seems to be a greedy, deceptive, tricky bastard doesn't he? If I were admin I'd hate him. If I were a player I'd want him as my manager.

I know the storm tried to pinch Joel Moon last year.

But from what i read it was less than $200k. And theres every chance that would have been an incentive based contract too. Ive never seen anywhere that says they offered him a 200k base contract.

Wasn't Millard meant to be a superstar? Hasn't done that much yet.

According to who?

All the stories I read said he was resigned to sitting behing Gaz and Cooper at the Dragons and signed with the Dogs for a shot at 1st grade. He's defensively solid and sadly also one of our quicker players.

Sharks boss Greg Pierce admitted he was shocked to learn they would have to pay so much to secure McNichol. "It is a lot of money but he is an elite player and if we didn't pay that money we wouldn't have got him. Outstanding players like this don't come along very often," Pierce said.
WTF is he talking about.......An elite player.

over priced, over hyped and injury prone, hardly a tag this young kid wants or needs
though one could argue, he is already shotting at 2 from 3 and if meatloaf taught us nothing else. 2 outta 3 aint bad
