SJ looked pretty cooked speaking to the press after the Panthers game. Close to tears.
At the moment he is holding the team back.
Volkman had a pretty good debut and I reckon he might go pretty well with CHT or ASI.
Yep, got to make the change, if Johnson can get himself right then obviously he can work his way back in

I'm not seeing much evidence of this, apart from overblown instagram posts after we won a couple of games.

Nothing about his in-game effort says he wants to be there. His defense is deplorable. He isn't up there in missed tackle stats because when our line is breached, a lot of the time he doesn't even lay a hand on someone, or he makes such a woeful effort that others outside him get exposed.

There was the try against the Cows earlier in the year where one of their young forwards scored, and he made no effort on the line to lay a hand on them. He did it again this week with someone. You just see the lack of effort and it stinks.

I just don't see a way back from this. I was the biggest fan of the guy on here, I reckon. But he's stealing a living right now. And he's done that before to us, made all the right noises then failed to back it up in the only place where it counts.
Maybe he came back expecting the governance and management to be better than when he left and when finding it's worse, and way worse, and with his iffy temperament, just can't play himself into any sort of form.

Maybe let him play in the homecoming game if he wants to cause dropping anyone for that one would be pretty harsh, but give him a spell after that.

I get the feeling he'll play the homecoming game and then maybe announce his retirement, either immediately or for the end of the season, he looked totally over it in that interview.

I'm prepared to believe part of Shaun's struggles is his mental health. I absolutely get it - he has been away from his family a lot, and I'm very aware that sucks.

But you're right, his temperament has a part to play in it too. He's just not a tough competitor, not a leader, reads too much of his press, hasn't developed over the years. I acknowledge he's in a tough spot family-wise, and our club sucks, but we are entitled to expect more from a guy who's played in the NRL for 12 seasons now, was a Test regular etc.

I wouldn't doubt this for a second. He's cooked. I think we'll get a lot out of the Tigers game in terms of seeing where he's at mentally. He should be bang up for that one, after getting 'home'.

I thought that "coming home" for the Warriors this year meant we're still based in Redcliffe but we fly in and fly out for Mt Smart games, so families who relocated to Redcliffe at least had the certainty of staying this year for housing, schools, etc. I hope Shaun actually gets enough time to spend with his family over here to make a difference for him.

That's correct. Still based in Redcliffe, just flying over for home games.

But it's two weeks until the Warriors play again. Saun will get a nice break with the family I imagine.
