His mental health is something that also must be worried about as he has clearly checked out.
I'm pretty sure his family is not over here.
They aren't, and that's tough - I saw a video of him saying goodbye to his daughter. That's brutal. But over the 2020-21 COVID period, I think I'm right in saying he was around his family? So there's guys in our side who have done it tougher. He signed for us this year with some knowledge there might be disruption. If he was a pro (and he's never really been) he would be putting in.

He's been so shit this year. Even when he was getting a tick because of a pair of drop goals, he was still anonymous in those games. He's playing like a nervous rookie, not a 12th year veteran. I actually can't comprehend how bad he has been.

The trouble is though that in this side, he is ‘the’ player. He is the bloke that is looked upto by the young blokes, and leading by example. It won’t find anything immediately results wise, but the message gets sent that nobody is safe and it may wake some of the others up

I’ve seen Jake Trbojevic close to tears this season addressing the troops when they are getting flogged, even last night at 24-0 up he was laying down the law, that doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but that passion is what Shaun is meant to offer this group
He’s always been best when he’s one guy in a team- that’s what he was at the Sharks, and at the Warriors in 2011. But that part is on the other players as well, they shouldn’t be waiting for him to win games for them. Can’t say the media help either, every game they’re talking him up as THE guy who had to win it for them. That just ain’t gonna as happen, except in the occasional clutch moment.

Sad to see how SJ has failed so badly.
I have noticed over the last couple of games when Egan is at dummy half and SJ calls for the ball Egan has hesitated and then passed to the other side.
The team is split and SJ is one of the causes.
Does little yet, if available, first one picked.

This seemed to ring very true in the second half when Egan combined with CHT’s side more - we looked better for it.

Tony Kemp said on SEN apparently that 'he doesn't see Shaun seeing the year out' because he's cooked.

Let's see if the Super Coach is right.

Maybe treat the guy like what he is, just one player. If he's out of form give him a spell in reggies. And don't expect him to carry the team. Talk of sacking him after half a season is ridiculous. Do we want to send even more shitty messages to prospective signings about how they'll be treated?

If thats the case im backing Egan. The heart of that guy outshines SJ any day of the week

No one has managed to tell him, he is Brett Kenny, not Peter Sterling.

He is not Stacey Jones, if he can accept that, his entire life will change.

Run Forrest.

If he was anywhere near as good as Brett this thread wouldn't exist.

Brown in the papers coming to the defense of SJ. Saying stop all the criticism, he’s in a tough spot being away from his wife and young son. He thinks his form will lift when back to NZ.

But that’s not until 2023!

Yeah sure. Mentally I can see how that’s tough. But he’s shown zero desire to take on the line all year. Is moving back to NZ going to suddenly make him want to put his body on the line and start asking questions of the defense? I don’t see it happening.

He is a genuinely good bloke Nathan Brown, won’t bag the club or anyone associated with it

said that they have the right owner, ceo and football manager and if they get the coach right will be going well in a couple of years

It’s interesting that nobody yet who is n the know had actually come out and bagged Robinson or George yet. Maybe just too soon, but was notable that neither Brown or Lodge went there.

obviously a clause in his redundancy deal that he will only say good things regarding the club - or he has NFI.

Do any players, staff etc come out and bag old clubs?
Most know it's a small pond and who is going to hire the person that bagged out their last place of employment?
