Cya fitz... But we know that wont happen. I think 100k shared over the whole squad is an option, would all players agree to it tho?

I'd suggest Tuiaki is the obvious player with a huge question mark over retaining. Also deadwood like Tupou and Cayless..... maybe Lazarus- seems he has already been judged by Teflon as not up to it. No point in prolonging the agony.

The other thing is that if a player has a contract the club cant just break it because its convenient, so i guess they will have to look at players on incentive deals etc. ,, Im not sure.

Good point. Tuiaki, Fitzy & Lazarus's contracts expire end of this season. Breaking them might not be too hard- ethicaly not good but maybe WT would have no option.

I thought if Tuiaki does not play this season that his contract or part thereof may be made exempt.

The reality of these discounts is that we relied on them to be able to sign Lote.

Unfortunatley the NRL seems to refuse to recognise that Toyota Cup is just glorified Flegg

One player not mentioned who is surely gotta be close to retiring.

Todd Payten.

Fitzy, Payten, Cayless - dump these three I reckon.

The issue tho is it has to be done virtualy now , if we break a contract on a player it still needs to be paid so technicaly its still money spent towards the cap in 2010 i think. Thats why i think it has to be something agreable to such as a down grade to save the 100k. Also if other clubs have failed using flegg for long service years im surprised the WT club wasnt already aware of that before we got into this situation.

Pitty Tom Shines and his mate Royce Sizzler are not part of the salary cap we could flick both of them and get the Leichhardt Wanderers under 8 coach to take over. Would have to have a better idea how to pick a team and use a interchange bench

True Tod does have some great points, but he is at that age where he is having less and and less impact and also less and less time healthy on the field.

I doubt Payten has much use antmore at all.

Experience? Ellis, Heighington, Fulton, Gibbs have all been around for 7-8 seasons minimum in first grade. They've got plenty.

Power? No

Speed? Nothing greater than anyone else, ang getting slower.

Skill? he has some ball skills. Problem is he only shows them nowadays when we need him to hit the ball up and get tackled, not throw a short flat ball just before the defence hits.

Defence? Average. he's not the worst but he ain't the best either.

Price? If he is now earning over 200k then he's on too much.
