Sheens been lured by French Rugby

Just thinking if all the elite players are being lured to the land of beautiful woman and frog legs why in hell cant they lure the great man mr 33.3% (or their abouts) and do us all a favour. I mean he couldn't do any worse coaching rugby than he is at the moment.

Lets face it who would take on penrith with a under sized bench and play into their hands, only the great man. I can picture Tim and Royce in Bordeaux sucking on a chardonnay talking about the good old days in Emu Plains and the real bonus they don't tackle in rugby, especially France so "no more gaps" Royce would become a hero with his approach to defence.

One can only dream

A Royce coached union team would still have holes in it despite the 15 man. Its time for the gnome to go but that won't happen until Sheens does.

Another Tom Shines special against the Panfers.

Your geniused halfback at hooker, and the best hooker in the game at half. What a dud.

Sheens was a super coach in all your eyes when we won the comp and now that we aren't making the finals you all hate him. Maybe they are not making the finals because the players aren't playing as good as they can. Sheens is a nice guy and a good coach. We wouldn't have won the comp in 2005 with any other coach in the world. Perhaps you would rather an arsehole as a coach like Hagan or Smith

How long are we going to keep going back to 2005. Since Sheens has been in at the wests tigers yes they have won a comp, they have also lost more games than any other club except the rabbits. Now if we want to shift the blame from the coach to players, who selects, buys, sacks and motivates the players, our man Sheens.

Should have been shown the door at the end of last year,if you cant end up in the top half of this comp you have big problems

it's not like you have to beat too many team to make the eight. half of the ones who miss out are beating themselves for you like the cows, dogs, eels, bunnies.

as for thinking tom was a genius, i thought he was a myth in nq, doubted he would do much for the tigers, and at the end of 04 felt pretty vindicated with the pathetic way they missed the semis and the continual selection of nuffies like johnny white legs (here gaz let me give you push in the back on the way to your hat trick), the pack-a-day wannabe fireman, and the man who single handedly ran down the slowest winger ever. the way he started 05 didn't look like things were going to improve on 04 (galea will be the hooker, no reynolds will be the hooker - anybody but the best young hooker in the game will be hooker), and their defence sucked as usual.

then mid way through 05 something just clicked. no question that the second half of 05 was one of the best and most exciting runs in the games history. i had to ask myself 'am i too hard on sheens?'. you just had to concede that a coaches main job is win comps, and he delivered. i was happy enough to accept that he had proved the doubters wrong and it wasn't a fluke.

i was wrong. everything that has happened since then just reinforces that for 3 months in 05 shines and the tigers were hit up the arse by a rainbow.

Sheens did a good job in 2005.

That is now three years ago. How many years of failure can that premiership buy? In 10 years time when we have still not made the finals with Sheens at the helm, will you still be repeating the same garbage you are now? FMD.

Who gives a f**k if our coach is an arsehole BTW, winners never get anywhere by being nice. Sheens is not nice anyway, he's a merkin and there are plenty of players who will tell you the same.

Utterly ridiculous post.

Which just happened to occur with the promotion of Prince to Captain, when he hit his straps in form as Halfback and team leader. The "rainbow's" end came when Prince was demoted back to the ranks, and didn't seem to give much of a crap anymore, beyond merely fulfilling his job requirement. Coincidence? Perhaps. But a peculiar alignment of events, none the less. Not that it was all him, the team had to step up also. But that run may have had more to do with another factor, and much less to do with the coach.

listen you little smartarse. you think you could do better? you know how hard it is to win a premiership these days? you need everything to go your way. why do you think teams never get back to back premierships anymore? i have questioned some of sheens decisions to but some of you mugs go overboard. the reason we are not winning over 50 percent of our games is alot of reasons. alot of the blame should go to some of the players not playing anywhere near as good as they could. also if they stop the nrl being like wrestlemania then we will see alot better results. unfortunatly mvp and batista didnt do their job when they were here. maybe sheens isnt nice to players that dont have the right attitude. in 2005 they had discipline. i know he wants the players to be disciplined. i have heard him talk about it and he is right

so he knows what is required, but can't make it happen. there's a word for that - failure.

I am not a coach you dumb f**k. Why are you asking me if I could do better? Despite this, I guarantee you without doubt that I would be able to pick a better team than Sheens does. I would also not buy hookers to replace Clive Churchill medal winning halfbacks, I wouldn't sign the son of the recruitment manager to a three year contract, I wouldn't replace a second rower on the bench with a fullback, I wouldn't play a game in which we need to win to make the semi finals with 16 players etc. etc. etc - the list goes on and on.

Stop passing the buck - failing to make the semi finals of a MEDIOCRE competition three years in a row is simply an EPIC FAIL.

You are willing to accept FAILURE and MEDIOCRITY because we won the premiership three years ago. That is not good enough and is part of the reason the vicious cycle of poor performance continues to occur - because no-one is accountable, no-one has anything to answer for and idiots like you keep harping back to a competition we won three years ago, content with the crap that we've dished up ever since.

alien, no-one here expects the Tigers to win a Grand Final every year.

However, we do expect our team to be competitive, and believe the team is much better than it's performances show.

It may just be the fact that possibly, the majority of the side isn't first grade standard without a decent organising, leader in the halves.

Putting Farah there and making him captain isn't the solution. I wish this dopey merkin would stop moving Farah around. What sort of message is this sending other potential halves in the side.

If you have a world class player, do you play him in his favourite position and build a team around him, or do you just buy anyone and move your quality player around to suit some of the hacks he has to play with?
