Does that knock mean Nevill will get the test spot he should never have lost back???? Or does the 'don't change a winning team' apply?

If he comes back into the side he needs to bat 5 or 6. But the selectors will never admit they were wrong so easily.

It may not have changed much, but I had been saying for a year that M.Marsh and Nevill needed to swap spots.

Re: NSW bowlers, Conway is coming on well, Cummins is working back into red ball cricket (played another Futures league game this week), Josh Lalor is hanging around (but never seems good enough to stay at state level), so there's something underneath the top level but not much.

Shaun Abbott is injured also (though did not bowl that well last year).

Ridiculous that Cummins goes straight into the ODI squad when he should be building towards Shield cricket.

Now Starc and Haze are established and a few others (e.g. tremain) have been shipped off the cupboard is a little bare, given Bollinger must be near the end.

There are a few younger bowlers around. Abbott has been hit and miss but has the potential to be quite good. Ben Dwarshuis looks to have potential. Harry Conway looks good, Sandhu could certainly still be a reasonable first class bowler...

NSW will be resigned to years of a second string attack without Starc and Haze, but there's some bowling around. I was just having a crack at the troll for saying that Bollinger and Copeland were an awful opening pair tbh

The young fella that belted Voges in the Melon looked like he had a bit of pace. Hopefully he isn't a plodder, wouldn't hurt anyone (maybe only voges) to have a few more quick blokes in the Shield.

One of the best second ball ducks I have ever seen from Mitch Marsh today. Get him back in the team for Brisbane...

I still don't understand the reasoning behind Faulkner being blacklisted from the test side after his debut. 6 wickets on debut and hasn't been seen since. Good century today and with a batting average similar to M Marsh and a bowling average of 24 (well and truly worthy of being picked as a 3rd seamer), I don't understand why he hasn't been mentioned even for number 8? With our batting collapses lately having him in the side batting in the tail could be quite handy. Definitely worth a mention for the India tour as that is where he has played his best cricket. On top of that, he has saved our ass in one day cricket on several occasions
