Sherwin excels without Anasta.

Is it just me or does anyone agree that Brett Sherwin seems to come out of his shell and play heaps better when Anasta is NOT Playing?

You are kidding right? I guess you didn't see the Cowboys Dogs game two weeks back.

Sherwin only ever excels when his forwards are on top. Plain and simple. Against melbourne the Dogs forwards were completely dominant and gave the dogs the roll on that Sherwin needs to shine. Thats doesn't mean I am having a go at him becuase the same could be said for most ball players.

Sherwin's kicking and passing game are awesome but if his forwards are being outplayed like against the cowboys he doesn't have the skills or brilliance to make a difference on his own. This is where he needs Anasta. Anasta has the skills without the organisation and Sherwin has the organisation without the skills. They are matched perfectly in the halves.

Against Melbourne the dogs could have played Corey Hughes at 5/8 and still been successful because their forwards were that dominant.

If I were the dogs, I would have got rid of anasta and kept thurman. He is the far better player IMO.

however it does seem to ring true considering two games that reni has started at five eigth...we have had scores of 40+

sherwin and anasta have a good combo..the cowboys game...no one played well..and when omeley doesnt take the first hit up then you know somethings off....

anasta is the link with ryan tonga and utai down the left side...thats where he fits in... but i wouldnt say sherwins game is better when anasta isnt around... like every other half back if your forwards give you room to move then you can produce...

and thurston having one good game doesnt mean he is the best option

Sherwin has skills, name one halfback that does play well when there forwards don't go forward ??
Ok if you named one, think again, 'cause no halfback does. How can they run the show if people are in their face putting shots on them?

Thurston has a more dazzling running game than Anasta but I don't rate his passing, kicking, or organisational skills anywhere near Braith's which is why Braith is the best number 6 at Canterbury now, and Thursty had to chase some cash for his talents

I think Shifty and Braith do play well together, when they're both on their game the Dogs attacking arsenal fairly shines with attacking potential
