we are talking about a generation of kids brought up on jackass and stupid YouTube clips ffs, what do we really expect, monkey see monkey do

Good point.

Carney is no longer a kid but it seems after all the shit he's been through, he still can't grow up & behave himself.

Oh FFS Gal, shut up.

It's not up to you mate.

I agree on this one. If you want a role in this stuff, retire and pursue a football management role, or become a coach. At the moment, Gal needs to worry about his role as a player in the team that other people pick.

I appreciate his involvement in getting a couple of blokes to the club over the years but he really does seem to be increasingly divisive and destabilising.

I'm not saying what Carney did was right..

However everything that has happened in the NRL since we sacked him, which players have gotten away with or dealing with and haven't been sacked.. It doesn't look so bad. I'm not privvy to obviously other stuff he was up to (running a muck some would say) before the photo got released. Got to admit when Flanno was in charge, he kept him in line.

His hamstrings are shot but.

He has stated that he wouldn't come back if Noyce was still here.

At the time Carney said that it was personal with Noyce - it would he was correct. Noyce should have known the correct process.

It'll be very interesting to see what eventuates. He is also still under contract in France - I wonder if he has a get-out clause?

Surely after everything that Gorman has said about being the right 'person' as well as player, Carney has next to no chance of coming back.

Terminating an employee requires a clear process to be followed. This is not particularly complex. To not have the process followed is poor.

Carney was clearly on thin ice. The word was that his behaviour was deteriorating. The discipline around the club had slipped. He was also playing like shit. The likelihood was the club was happy enough to move him on. Its hard to moan about losing him when we only got him because he was sacked by 2 other clubs.

I agree with above but Carney is one of Flanno/Gals boys, this could be interesting showdown here.

We could have Flanno/Gall wanting Carney and Gorman saying no, which could well set the tone for the future

I don't want him back.Burnt too many bridges at 3 clubs.Whilst his bubbler act was plain stupid,it followed police chases in Canberra, flicked out of Goulburn tossed by the Raiders, then the Roosters now done incorrectly by the Sharks.
If you want continual offield dramas that impact your teams bottom line then buy a player like him.We have enough issues ATM with a horribly pe'rforming team, that is where the club should be concentrating its efforts, not on a guy who can't give up the hit & miss.
That dumb bubbler incident went Oz wide, great publicity for the club and game, sponsors will be tripping over thsmelves to get on board.

Sadly this...

All Noyce needed to say was "there is a clear process to be followed in these circumstances & we will be following them, even if it takes a few extra days. No more comments / questions until then, thank you."

Hard to be critical of Noyce, he served the club well in a difficult time & Carney was always going to be sacked after that photo, so he was wanting to get it done asap.

If Carney was on thin ice as has been said, the club has the evidence (letter indicating last warning) to show that he was going to be shown the door no matter what, we have reason to fight this decision.

If Noyce was careless enough not to issue official warnings for past indiscretions, then we are in the shit.

If the NRL let's him back. Then stipulate he returns to the sharks. We don't need him going to South's, Roosters , Bulldogs or Manly. .

I watched all the games last year and he was shit.

Carney has amazing talent but no brains seemingly little character.

Truth be told I would probably take him back but that is a move from desperation.

Very ordinary behaviour Carch and one would expect more but IMO, none of what Carney did was as bad as sexual assault or drug trafficking.
