The rule must still be there that you can contest scrums but somehow it's accepted that you don't.

Last year my son's team in the under 16s was able to contest scrums for the first time as they had reached that age group. Well, they weren't taught how to contest but all the teams tried to and it was downright dangerous! There were people everywhere! I think they need to say you aren't allowed to contest or actually teach them properly.

The scrum today can STILL be contested but only in one way. While ive never watched a replay of Last years GF, and wont ever, the ONLY highlight of the entire game from the Roosters perspective was the awesome scrum push-over that we did. That sort of thing makes or breaks a game, but we seem to be the only club who's attempted it in the last 15 years. Perhaps there IS a future for the scrum push over ... but it would have had a bigger future had we won the game because of it. We came close though, but it was our shit handling overall that killed us :(. Nevertheless, its still a damn good ploy, especially on a tired team.
