He is too up himself. If he left the Drongos and that looks like the go, he will be playing Union, in England or wearing the colours of the Dragons, Bennett mostly like do anything to get him.

look at the raiders last night, their big forwards set the platform real early and they looked like winning it real early in the piece. Makes a big difference when your forwards bend the line and make metres.

I can lol.

I used to play a little back in the day (5 years ago). I was a prop. And as my coach used to say - if the engine room isn't pumping and churning out the kilowatts, the vehicle won't be able to move. If it doesn't move, how can you expect the steering wheel to function?

To put it in footy terms: if the pack can't make metres and then keep the ruck tight in defence, the team can't work well. If the pack can't control the ruck in attack and defence, how can the halves do anything worthwhile?

We have a slight crisis in the halves, what with Keating and Mateo out injured indefinitely. But our big, big problem at the moment is our forwards, and for a number of reasons:

(1) they don't play like a pack; good teams have a forward pack that tackle in groups, eagerly take the next hit-up and just generally act together

(2) they are not controlling the ruck. In attack, they are not making enough metres. In defence they are being bullied into letting the opposition dictate terms.

(3) there is no aggression. Big Benny Smith is a monster of a man, but doesn't play with aggression. Meanwhile PJ Marsh was knee-high to a grasshopper and smashed blokes twice his size.

+1

yeah that is true our forwood pack is pretty weak compared to other teams IMO i dnt think kelly is ready for FG juz yet. i dnt believe dan mortimer is even ready. but we are getten rushed to get these payers on the park bcoz we have no other options.
it happened with michael witt in 03 he played well then in 04 played rather dismal and again in 05 with smith he played great that year but then in 06 07 08 he was shocking.

Michael Witt played well for us in 2003, went missing in 2004.

I don't understand what you're saying about with Smith? Because Witt was with Manly from 2005-2006 and from memory there was no Smith in the Manly side at that time. He had a good 05 with the Sea-Eagles

And without being outstanding I though he was solid for the Warriors from 07-08. He's end of season form with the Warriors last year was a big contributor to their finals charge and based on that form I was honestly baffled to how he couldn't strike a start with them at the beginning of this year with Joel Moon being a preferred option. He's now playing Union in NZ.

if Hunt was to sign with us I'll go to every game in a tu tu and a crash helmet for 5 years...

Don't flirt with danger Stagger, remember when Gus did that and he had to jump from the Energy Australia commentary box? :p

However, I think you've got much better odds the what he had. :D

It is more than blind optimism to suggest that Hunt would come to Parra.

hunt is a good player but not as good as the $$$ he thinks he is worth.

we could sign two decent forwards for the money he reportedly wants. forget him.

He is worth what he is asking, simply because he has an offer for that amount from Eddie Jone's Suntory team in Japan. He's a professional footballer and he played schoolboy rugby not that many years ago.

From what I can see he'll either go to Japan or sign with the Qld Reds in 2010. Good on him for getting good coin in these tough times.

Hunt at 5/8 is a joke, he is a better FB than Hayne. Hayne can go to the wing, thats where he represents NSW.

As good as it is to dream, Hunt won't be coming to us, but there is word that another established Five-Eighth could be on the way to us.

If they are talking about Holdsworth he is hartdly established but he does have a decent long kicking game. I was against it earlier but he wouldn't be a bad pickup.

Actually it's a bloke who's played representative football before.
