Should the Seahawks sack Carroll?

Its near 24 hours after the game and I wonder how Seahawk players and fans are feeling. It has been sufficient time for the loss and more importantly the reason for the loss to sink in.

It will be interesting in next few days and weeks what the players have to say about how they lost the game.

I am yet to hear anyone and I do mean anyone to support Carroll and that play called that killed the Seahawks chances of winning. Comments are ranging from the dumbest play to the worst play ever called. I cant disagree with those thoughts.

Carroll's career will forever be defined by that play call. In the years to come when ever his name is mentioned the fact that he won SB XXXXVIII will not be forgotten but placed along way second to the blunder of this seasons super bowl.

This quite possibly could be the Seahawks last chance to win a SB for sometime to come.

Yesterdays SB will forever be known as the Carroll Blunder Bowl.

While I don't believe they will sack him, should they?

Should Dallas not Re-Sign Bryant because of his ego move that cost them the chance at the NFC title game? Lynch was 1-5 on goal line runs this season, the entire world was expecting Lynch to get it, so it's a perfect time not to give it to him. It tool a amazing play to steal that ball from the WR.

Yes it was an amazing defensive play by Butler.

The game will be remembered most for two reasons, the play called and the intercept that resulted from that call.

The interception would never have occurred if they had called a running play.

The Seahawks best option for getting in to the end zone and winning the game was on the ground through Lynch.

These are moments you play for. Those risks. The game was on the line, he made the call. It didn't pay off. Should he be sacked? No way. What he achieved at Seattle in the past two years is amazing in my honest opinion.

Good response.

I agree. Carroll is a gambler. Sometimes the gamble works, as in what happened at the end of the 1st half. Sometimes they don't as in the end of the game.

That play call is being considered the dumbest decision in NFL history....

But sacking Pete Carroll over it would set a brand new benchmark in stupidity....

No. But he should absolutely be held accountable for it. Terrible play call, cost them a SB. He'll have to live with it. But sacking him would be a gigantic mistake.

Thankfully for Pete Carroll's sake he won it last year...

So it won't haunt him nearly as much as it would have if they were ringless.

One shitty play doesn't cancel out all the great play calling over the years and where Pete has taken Seattle.
Without him they have no championships.

But that's a baffling play call, they had a few downs to play with...why not run it at least once.
Didn't even have to be Lynch, could have been Wilson...baffling.

I don't think it was that bad of an idea to pass. Trying to catch your opposition unawares is part of the sport. The thing I see wrong with the play call was to go with a 3WR set.

I think throwing a pop pass over the middle to your #3 is a pretty bad call
If you're going to throw it, i reckon you try and get Baldwin on a quick slant (Revis got beat by this by old man Steve Smith not long ago), or chuck it up to that Matthews guy and see if he can make a hero of himself. At least then if you dont complete the pass, it's almost certainly going incomplete

Throwing it in the middle, it gives guys a chance to drive on the ball the way Butler did, but you've got so many bodies, it just increases the risk for a turn over.
