Should there be 2 teams in Brisbane?

The simple answer is economic security.

Easts Tigers are richer than most Sydney NRL clubs and have a geographic footprint that extends from Bulimba down to Yarrabilba in southeast Logan. Their centralised location -- just 4km southeast of the CBD -- allows them to cover the entire southside and big end of town. Their attendances would rival the Broncos and they would be an economic giant compared to the Sydney clubs. They would be based permanently at Lang Park.

The ratings this club would generate would rival the Broncos.

It won't be the Jets as they have no money and are too isolated in a lowly populated Ipswich.

I don't think "they have a big pokie den" is a very compelling argument for a new side.

That's not the argument for including them in the NRL. Try responding to the points at hand.

The Tigers are building an NRL standard high performance training centre at Langlands Park. Unlike several Sydney clubs, they didn't need the state government to fund it for them.

The Tigers have a network of junior clubs that stretch from Bulimba in Brisbane's east-north-east to Yarrabilba in Logan's outer southeast. They have at last four junior clubs in Logan: Rochedale Tigers, Springwood Tigers, Flagstone Tigers and Yarrabilba Tigers.

Mabel Park State High has a rugby league academy. It is associated with the Brisbane Tigers.

This is a large club that has the potential to own eastern Brisbane and Logan. If you were a true rugby league fan interested in expansion then you would acknowledge the club's strong junior base across two cities and state of the art infrastructure at Langlands Park.

For months you claimed that the club is confined to Coorparoo, despite being shown evidence that they have several affiliate clubs across eastern Brisbane and Logan.

This.

demerge the west tigers giving you the Brisbane tigers and the western(Sydney )magpies.

dolphins to eventually play out of redcliffe in a redeveloped 20-25k dolphin oval with a game on the Sunshine Coast.

They could always rebrand as the Brisbane Bengals. That way the deadbeat and irrelevant Wests Tigers can operate in front of 15k loyal fans at Leichhardt while the Easts Tigers bring money, fans and future players into the game.

Saturating the SEQ market so quickly, before the Dolphins have had a chance to establish a foothold would be peak Sydney centric NRL decision making.

So no doubt it will happen

The case for another team in Brisbane is compelling

they won’t be next though
Only if dolphins fail to deliver what they should be delivering. A city the size of Brisbane shouldn't need more than 2 top tier clubs to service RL demand. The only reason we are talking Brisbane2 is because we all feel Dolphins wont be the Brisbane2 we needed.

The better bet would have been Firehawks FT out of Suncorp, split the city North and South then in years to come when population and stadium are developed introduced a Redcliffe/Sunshine coast club. Any way News ltd got what it demanded so hey hum.

The only reason we are talking about another brisbane team is because the dolphins have already assembled the second highest sponsorship in the nrl and showed yesterday how untapped brisbane is

on point 1, Id like to know how they know that? Have all the clubs shared their 2023 sponsorship portfolios with each other?

on point 2, great opening crowd. Lets wait till season end before declaring such things shall we? If they are still getting 25k at Suncorp by season end then yep great. Not that it shows that Brisbane is ready for a third club ahead of big cities with zero clubs. Just that it was def ready for a second club, which we've all known for 25 years to be fair.

Ur talking to me again after ur last meltdown.
Ut point is where Perth red backs up ute full of manure & dumps it in a post

Meltdown? You mean disprove every illogical thing that you say time and time again. You still constantly use such and such will happen which as you know logically nobody can say.

Anyway I do find your posts humorous so keep it up.
