Should tryscorers take conversion attempts ?

Every team should be allowed a (non-playing) Designated Kicker, just like the NFL.
To make it more challenging for these specialists, all try conversions & penalties should be taken from the halfway line.

I'm guessing that a specialist kicker could pump them around 60m+ with a reasonable degree of accuracy?

I've been thinking about conversions over the last couple of seasons. It's odd that rugby league is a team sport yet just 1 out of the 17 is SO important. It doesn't seem right that if two teams are slogging away and are try for try that for one team of 17 to be put out by 1 person.

Don't know what the answer is but.
hang on, that sort of situation exists in all team sports doesn't it?

Cricket, one bowler bowling to one batsmen.

Basketball, only one player can take the free throws when there is a foul.

Soccer - Penalty shoot-outs etc are 1 on 1.

It's part of the game and it has merit. Current scoring set up is fine. Leave it all as it is.

I would get rid of them all together.

I still do not like that a dive over from dummy half near the posts is rewarded more than an 80 metre - went threw 8 sets of hands- scored in the corner ripper of a try.

I repeat I would get rid of conversions all together.

Tries is why I watch league, if I wanted to watch quality kicking I would watch soccer.

This x2

Couldn't agree more
