theres potentially 73 channel 9 games a year (47 friday 26 sunday) so fairly every side should get 2 friday night and 1 sunday games on channel 9

the way they do monday night games (which last year there were 24 + 1 sunday night game in the last round) is fairer every side (with the exception of auckland because they cant have a game start at 9pm their time) every side gets maximum 2 home monday night games (except last year the tiges got 3)

Fair doesnt come into the business of making money.

To be perfectly honest, the Raiders dont interest me to watch. The play some fast flowing footy but its not enough. What Canberra need to do is develop some rivalry with other clubs to get things interesting. Rivalry is a big draw card, like Parra vs Dogs, Parra vs Manly, Norths vs Manly, Dogs vs Easts, Easts vs Souths, Saints vs Sharks. Thats what the Raiders (and the Warriors to be honest) need, rivalry.

But people follow success, once/if Canberra become a force, they will get on TV more often. (they also dont need to buy players, their juniors can grow into stars, just like Hayne, Inu, Mateo, Hindy and Fui Fui did at Parra)

If sucess dictates Television games, how do people justify the Tigers being in the top 3 of games shown on FTA?

Since 95 only the Cowboys and Souths have probably performed worse, and Id guess the Raiders have finished very close to them on the table every season since.

There's some real haters in this thread. No surprise most of them are Knights fans. Good on ya heroes.

Either you're assuming some posters are Knights fans when they arn't or simply baiting a post to start a fight.

Either way its pretty rich of you to call out others as "heroes" princess

Success doesn't always dictate which teams are televised in FTA games.

The Tigers play an exciting expansive brand of football that is exciting to watch. Probably that is the downfall to their lack of semi's appearances, they dont grind away wins like a top team would. This type of football is what the nuetral supporter would want to watch if they have to watch a game without their team playing, hence resulting in a higher audience.

Another reason the Tigers get alot of FTA games would be their large fanbase. This would result in a guaranteed large audience watching the game. The Tigers also tend to be a popular 2nd team to alot of football supporters.

Having a couple of high profile marquee players like Benji Marshall, Robbie Farah and exciting youngsters like Chris Lawrence would also be attractive to Channel 9.

So though they might not be a regular top 8 team, these reasons are attractive to Channel 9 when scheduling FTA games.

If sucess dictates Television games, how do people justify the Tigers being in the top 3 of games shown on FTA?

We've got one game in the opening 5 rounds... i wonder if its a case of the squeeky wheel getting the grease. I guess we'll find out when the rest of the draw progressively gets released. But a good start for us.
