My Tip Westie, next time you turn your black and white rank areana tv on a friday night when the tigers are playing, leave the 4ltr cask of cheap plonk in the kitchen. You might actually be able to see good from bad, under rated from over rated . Going on what you have posted here, how do I say it nicely --you have no bloody idea

If Ayshford had an actual winger and not Fitzhenry outside of him, we'd have scored a lot more tries down that side.

Don't really know what you guys see in Ashford. I've watched him pretty carefully this year and sure, he's an OK centre but no X factor whatsoever (how often does Blake almost break the line or almost get the critical pass away?). Comparing him to Collis is apples and oranges. Collis was miscoached, mismanaged and hampered by injury but had a natural class that Ashford could only dream of (hell, I'll go as far to say that at Brisbane under Bennet, Collis might well have been a star).

imo, putting a big name winger outside Ashford will not solve the r/h attack problems, rather only highlight Blake's shortcomings.

Still, he's one of Sheens' untouchables so expect him to be in the 3 jersey for some time yet.

But he tries hard! I bet these blokes are the guys who support Cooper, Ennis and Kimmorley being Origin players. The sort of guys who think the Dragons niff nuffs choked. X-Factor is the only word to sum those two blokes up.

I'll explain what I see as the difference between front rowers and second rowers having X-Factor later tonight. Sit tight fans.

Fifita is so far ahead of where Gibbs was at 20 it's not funny, even Bryce Gibbs would agree with that.

Vic (since I'm on with this thread I might as well persist). Gibbs and Fifita are entirely different types of forward. Gibbs is of the O'Mealy style mould (which is fine, as long as the fitness and agression are there to back it up). Without Galloway, and let's face it - the man is seriously injury prone - Gibbs performs an absoludely critical role. Fifita on the other hand is (dare I say it) more of a Beetson style forward - best suited to the 3rd play or thereabouts where he can run an angle, use his impressive body swerve (and bulk) and offload.

Both guys have a role to play.

That said, Fifita looks like he's living next door to KFC at the moment at at age 20 that might not be such a great sign.

Hopefully Folkes can sort it out.

If you think Fifita looks like he lives next to a KFC, well his twin brother must live inside a KFC!!. On Gibbs seldom gets the raps he should, got more minutes in him than any frontrower in the comp and the defensive ability of a top backrower. He is not your smash the line with a big hitup style frontrower that is good for ten minutes a half but than again its not the role he is asked to play. Gets some of those brain dead penalties out of his system and he could be a world beater.

His brother is playing A grade in the Balmain comp as his attitude and application suck. He refused to take hitups to get the side out of trouble and was only interested in the fancy stuff. During the aftergame debrief Andrew walked over and David just left because they had "a mates party to get ready for"

Both have poor attitudes it's just that one has talent worth persisting with and the other has buried that talent deep down

Gibbs looks like a completely different player this year and the stats back it up.

For one thing he seems a helluva lot fitter and secondly there seems to be a lot more discipline in his game. Plus, the guy doesn't get injured.

All ticks in the box in my book.

The wet should probably suit him tonight - a good time to win ugly.

Still waiting on the explanation Westie.

f**k all the negative comments. I'm an impartial observer and despite the few biases you know more about Rugby League than about 90% of the people on here.

Persist.

He kicked the field goal in the clutch brother (without expecting the ball).

Not exactly an easy thing to do in 1st grade.

Won the game.

Would imagine he's getting laid rather comprehensively tonight.

You see him as undisciplined. I just see him as enthusiastic. Sometimes he can become over zealous when he tries to assert his authority being in the front row and he steps over the line. It's a fine line. If he were an experienced player and still giving away the same penalties then fair enough. No big drama.

Gave away another stupid penalty on the 4th or 5th tackle AGAIN...

The sooner he gets that out of his game the better....

He had an awesome game i thought though.

Lui did not start well at all, but the most seasoned player could struggle in those conditions.

If he doesn't recieve or kick the ball we are all quick to login on and knock sheens for not letting a seven play a sevens role.

If he is to be our long term halfback, I have no problems with him getting the experience he needs. Having said that, if one was to learn from their mistakes Benji would be king.

Did everyone notice the state of the grass last night, have u seen a slower pitch. Parra stadium is 5 km away and last nights game there looked like a sunny Sunday afternoon. Would the doggies, being home team have a say in the length of the grass at Homebush as a home team normally would???

Yeah i would say the home team would have a say as to how the grass is cut, but with all the rain they may not have been able to cut it even if the dogs wanted to. I know a guy who used to work as a green keeper there so ill ask him and find out 100% how it works.

i thought the exact same thing. homebush is meant to be a world class venus, but the pitch looked like belmore sports ground in 1985. then parra stadium, a mere stones throw away, looked like a roof had been over it all week.

Yeah I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Dogs wanted the wettest track they could come up with to play against the Tigers...
