Sure, Vella and Wags have their powder puff labels nicely worn.

But Cannings and Stringer?

Sounds to me like Manly fans are bitter because we signed Aaron. The guy is great - in the trial match he consistently carried two or more defenders on his back forward and even managed a few good offloads.

Not bitter, disappointed I guess for me. Anyway hope he has a great year without injury for Parra.

Manly will welcome him back when this contract finishes. I suppose Manly can get a certain centre to whisper in his ear on how good it will be at Manly...

It's good to see a Manly fan who rates the guy.

Most Manly fans I speak to hate him and reckon he is a waste.

But I think he has a lot of potential.

He has great potential. Very quick for his size and a great off-load. And from memory, he scored his share of tires for our premier league side in 2003.

I remember watching the game @ Parra in 2002 when the rumours about us signing him started. I paid particular attention to him.

At one stage he carried 3 defenders on his back and still made 10 metres AND got a great offload away!

I don't think it is as clear cut as that.

You then have Timana Tahu and Chad Robinson, the quiet achiever.

I was thinking last night that we could even use a Cowboys-esque strategy by employing the following team:

1. McKinnon
2. Anderson/Petersen
3. Burt
4. Tahu
5. Grothe
6. Morris
7. Smith/Marsh
8. Cayless (C)
9. Riddell
10. Robinson
11. Hindmarsh
12. Morrison
13. Wagon

14. Henderson/Marsh (depending who plays halfback)
15. Cannings
16. Vella/Stringer
17. Reddy/Anderson/Smith/Williams

We could use the number 17 as a Bowen type impact player off the bench to rue tired defences.

It worked wonders for the Cowboys.

And I have heard nothing but good things about Joel Reddy. Plus I am a huge fan of Anderson myself.

But anyway, back on topic.

Robinson, Riddell, Morrison, Marsh, Tahu - all superb signings, and singlign out any single one is nigh on impossible.

realitically and if we have a bit of luck for a change.......Tahu, Riddell, Morrison and PJ could all be among the signings of the year

we certainly scooped the pools in the talent sweepstakes last year with thos signings and if we get something, anything in terms of injuries (as in some change of fortune) we should definitely have a good year....anything else would be unacceptable considering

and mizi.....manly fan.....Stringera nd Cannings = powder puffs.....i'd like to see that and seriously do you support us or Manly....its becoming hard to tell

i really think the side should look like this:

1 McKinnon
2 Burt/Peterson
3 Tahu
4 Wagon
5 Grothe
6 Morris
7 Marsh
13 Morrison
12 Cayless (c)
11 Hindmarsh
10 Stringer
9 Riddell
8 Cannings

14 Henderson/Smith
15 Widders
16 Robinson
17 Vella

thats my opinion and something like what i expect come Round 1 barring injuries, massive performances from players liek Smith etc or a huge change of direction from dear old Smithy

Mizi! is probably one of the more clear headed Manly fans that come here, he's cool!! ;-)

Actually reminds me a little of you and Misty, one who's not affraid to speaks his mind against the current regime. he's probably got just as much concerns about his own club than what you have with yours.

Mizi is one of the realists, like myself, from AE.No rose-coloured glasses on that site.Back to the point though,I'm interested to see how Tahu goes without Gidley inside him.Morrison should be your best signing, hopefully Witt will be ours.
