Signings for 2020 and future looking team

I would take a punt on anyone that can dent the line and have a quick play the ball but Georgy Peorgy is goin home. The Burgeon Channel 9 hysteria and era is coming to an end.
It seems most likely but I think it could be worth the punt should he decide to stay

Ok, so lets all have a reality check here. The chances of the Turbo bros comung here are remote at best and it wont be about the money. I'd guess our fhances are about 1% of signing any of them.

I have a feeling our 2020+ backline will look something like:

1. Schiller
2. Saab
3. Lomax
4. Lafai (1yr) then Rava/Masters/Feagai
5. Rava/Pearson/Periera
6. Nornan
7. Hunt

About one percent, you say?

Don’t be so overly unrealistic.

Oh well French and Mau from the eels off to England and Dogs targeting EseEse. 3 players I thought we could of bought and added value to our squad withouit breaking the bank
The available cupboard of quality is getting near empty again for 2020. Oh well we will just upgrade and build withion on what we got

Just a thought regarding the current coaching situation, add Jason demetriou as assistant then he is appointed the new coach after 12 months. I'm sure MARY would love to throw Jason under the bus.....

Time for a reboot of this thread.

Given our ladder position and various rumours of players departing, these are our off contract players at the end of this season:

Mitchell Allgood - played 1 game in 5 yrs says enough for me.
Jai Field - latest rumour he's off to the Sharks, never reached potential here.
Patrick Kaufusi - plays like a reserve grader but better than Allgood
Josh Kerr - rumour being sort by the Warriors, but can't see where he fits in there.
Jeremy Latimore - already announced his retirement - thank you Lats
Lachlan Maranta - another played 1 game in 5 yrs and again enough for me
Darren Nicholls - he's captain of the CC team and that's about it.
Reece Robson - rumoured to have signed with the Cowboys
Tristan Sailor - developing player, but another small backline option, maybe a keeper.
Lachlan Timm - rumoured to have been told already to look elsewhere.

There's not much $$$ there tbh and it's hard to say who they will re-sign. I think there will be others told to look elsewhere for 2020, some surprises I'm certain.

We would also need to upgrade young Saab's contract to a full NRL contract.

As we can see there's no centre or wing or fullback in our off contract players (Sailor questionable as a fullback option). However, we don't have much $$ to spend either.

I have a feeling our backline will be very similar to this year. I'm hoping that both current centres are dropped and replaced. I'm also convinced Dufty will be fullback next year.
1. Dufty
2. Saab
3. Lomax
4. Ravalawa
5. Periera
6. Norman
7. Hunt

Anyway it's worth keeping an eye on over the next couple of months.

not bad, Id bring in Sailor over Periera anyday the kids need to get involved altogether just like Dufty should have come on at the same time as Luch the other night for the tasty offloads, and all these kids will beat anyone, I love the idea of Rav at centre im HUGE for this , just let him have a few games dont drop him, hell be a gun im sure!

Id go.....

Dufty ( at the moment unless we can find a better FB in the off season)
Saab
Lomax
Ravalawa
Sailor
Norman
Hunt

Even with no widdop n JDB.
Still cap problems,what gives.
These 3rd party payments make it an uneven playing field IE CHOOKS.

Our backline is too small and light weight and lacks punch / leg speed for getting sets started. If you think this year was bad it is not looking any better for 2020 unless major overhaul.

Fo those talking about Rav to centre are just thinking about attack. He might be Ok but his defense or reads will be worse than what we got.

A lot of people have been having a go at Dufty but he’s the not our biggest problem. We are 6th in kick return metres this season. Our forwards are an issue almost 16th for all forward related stats. our ultra conservative one out style of play is the primary cause of their problems. Change the coach, the root cause disappears.

We should look at a lock to replace JDB and let him go. Also need to look at a young prop to replace Lats.

OUT : Aitken & Lafai, IN : Kurt Capewell, Jordan Rapana or Hymel Hunt ( 2 of )
OUT : JdB IN : Kyle Turner, Corey Jensen
OUT : Mary IN : Demetriou
OUT : Latimore IN : Albert Vete or Alex Glenn
Have you seen much of Bateman, from the Raiders? He’s a lock and has got some raps on him.

I’d also get rid of Maranta and Pearson
