The real issue is how will the Dragons do with Millward's anointed juniors replacing Dugan or won't they be used by Mary. It's one thing to plan using promising juniors but it is another thing to replace injured marquee/first grade players with a suitable player.

Mary has a one dimensional mind when it comes to blooding juniors and Millward has a one dimensional mind when it comes to his roster. It will be interesting to see how things turn out and who blames who for the potential losses.

I don't think anyone on here wants to lose Dugan. But to re-sign him for the million dollars he is after is ridiculous.

Oh and just on this we played 2 games without him at the start of the year and won both.

There's no doubt we are a better team with him on the field, but it ain't as dramatic as you make it out to be.

Also Widdop is a bigger loss then Dugan but obviously with both of them out we will be struggling even more.

Mac Gregor should have an understudy to both our halves but this does not seem to be the case which is worsened by the injury to Hutchison and the erratic form of Nona. We should have
both Field and Mann trained up to fill in at any time. The coach has few contingency plans as evidenced by the injury to both Widdop and Dugan. Also he did not improve the backline defence shown up against the Eels and re-surfacing agsinst the Storm , backup goalkicking capability or field goal ability. The coach is like an ostrich with his head in the sand only acting to rectify things when he has been bitten 2-3 times not just once.

No team has an understudy to their halves. That is what nsw cup is for. Look at cowboys with no thurston. The back ups are the cup halves. How do you suggest otherwise backups should be prepared? Its called a salary cap.
