Awesome
A soccer fan from England that was in a boy band is singing the anthem.

Singing a song that is older than half the players in the game.

Yippee ... At least Dave smith will know the words.
He probably has the cd from his clubbing days back home.

If we call him Bob (or Bobby) instead of Robbie, then the initials of that phrase will be SBW. coincidence?

great news, I've always thought Limp Bizkit's song ''rolling'' would be great for league.... if you listen to the song it sort explains how to play league... ''move in and move back''

Is this a reply to:
What will the f*cksticks at the DT come up with to discredit this?.......

The old 'but they're not a rugby league person' rant.

...and in the next breath complaining why the NRL didn't get Katy Perry for the grand final last year when she was in Sydney.

A lot of planning goes into the itinerary of a performer.

Before they set foot on terra firma, they have a set schedule to adhere to.

Everything from promotional TV appearances to signing appearances and photo shoots, the actual concerts, rest days, etc.

Artists simply can't appear out of the blue on another entity especially when the tour has sponsorships that could clash if she did appear at the Grand Final.

Such is the case of touring logistics.

f**k that. Dave should have just went to her hotel room and asked her if she was free on Sunday arvo for an hour or 2.
Could have even offered her a pie and coke* as compensation for refunding a sold out concert. (* or Pepsi, depending on sponsorship)

This song would work for a highlights package for the footy show
but every two minutes on TV is going be painful.
The song has already been flogged to death for years on commercial radio.

It is a bad a choice as Bon jovi' s forgettable offering.

How long before rusty has robbie in a Souths jersey in the grand stand?
Doesn't robbie only do swing/cabaret stuff now anyway ?

Don't f**k with our dreams by the smith street band should have been the choice.
Good young hard working Aussie rock band selling out gigs all over the country

I'm starting to get the feeling that when the NRL approaches a big name contempory performer, they just snub us.
And we get left with someone who was popular 10-30 years ago or a douchebag.
Or in Billy Idols case, both.

Maybe the big names won't touch us with a pole, no matter how much coin is thrown their way.

Let's amplify the creepiness of that shit hey!?

Of all the things to promote surely there are better options than that weird shit.....

They have to make it look like GI is a supporter of women, the type that would stop them from hurting themselves. Not sure if the Goanna is the right way to go though, it seems a bit rapey.
