Hopefully that's the end of making good blokes millionaires, regardless of their ability.

This 100%.

I love this thread.

Well worth going back a few pages to read more proof of how Knights supporters over rate their players.

How on earth could O'Brien let this bloke go? Is he on the crack pipe?

Kudos to O'Brien who is obviously determined to change this roster into one that will get to a semi final series and win something. Still a ways to go though.

I hope he does well over there and comes back when we're a premiership force in a couple of years and comes plays a few games and gets to win a premiership with us.

Sad to see Sione go but that’s the reality if we want a better team moving forward. Sione is a prime example of how many things need to go right for a player to fulfil their potential. Things like the position they play, the team that they play for, injuries etc. all of which haven’t been too kind to him unfortunately.

SIONE seems to be a great example of how NOT groom a super star.

- too much early spot light
- change coaches every second season
- have him play multiple positions
- have him play through injuries (concussion)
- not build any team of talent around him

Hope we have learnt our lessons.

There's a good interview with Sione in today's Toohey's News which basically sums up the reasons he's a Knights favourite son despite not living up to the early hype.

Sad to see him go. He’s served the club well but moving on is what’s best for him and the club. Hope he kills it over there.

I came in here to post the same thing, what a hell of a guy. Would rather sign an contract overseas than play for another NRL team. Hope Fitzy has a decent year, or he might get the AOB chat

Can someone post it here if possible? Cheers.

Sione was mismanaged from the get go. Should have been kept on the wing and left there to develop

He did find his groove eventually as a backrower but it took him time, understandably so. He really did a number on Kikau in our draw with them early in the year. Was in his face all game and shut him down

Sad to see him go, he is a real gentlemen and leader but the club needed to say goodbye
