SL halfbacks coming off contract...

Despite the fact Melbourne have just resigned Matt Orford, speculation continues to mount that he'll leave at the end of next season in the event of Gosfoprd getting the 16th NRL franchise...

I wouldn't mind if Melbourne signed a half from Super League at the end of next season if required. Although I support St Helens I rate Paul Deacon very highly (he was good in a losing series last year), in fact I think he is just as good as Sean Long. When are Deacon, Long and Richard Horne of contract for their respective clubs...?

Horne has another 2 years to run on his contract and I think Hull are going to offer him an extension to try and really tie him up long term. To be honest, I think they'd give him just about anything he wanted to keep that kid at the club. The fans would go ballistic if they let him go without a very big fight.

Not sure about the other 2 you mentioned. I personally don't think little Deacon could hack it in the NRL. He'd get flattened every week.
