Sloan’s biggest deficit is that he has been playing for a team that is already dysfunctional and as a fullback you will get found out in defence a lot.

on Saturday the team upped their defence and suddenly Sloan could flourish at what he is best at.

Maybe he will never be as defensively strong as some of the elite but in a good team he’d be an absolute stand out of the game. Let’s hope we can become that team and take him along for the ride.

That’s ridiculous what about 2022? Started the year then Ramsay got the full season in. He’s been one of our best to start the year. Look at the players off contract and show me a “marquee” fullback

I recall Sloan being mercilessly criticised one weekend (fair enough, he didn’t play well). Walsh played even worse the following day (I mean really, really bad) but there was barely a whisper. IMO Sloan will excel; Walsh will fade.

Just watch Sloans try in the last match where he runs thru a gap and around Turbo. good work by Sloan of course, but I’m thinking of how ordinary and uncommitted Turbo looked. Sometimes you get caught out, and it looks worse. This happens to all players, and sometimes we over read it. Sloan has too many errors in him still, but he has improved heaps, and is much more committed. At 21, the Upside is immense.
