Smackdown started with Teddy Long coming to the ring and saying that at The No Way Out PPV, The Undertaker will face Kurt Angle for the title. Teddy then calls out the winner of the Royal Rumble Rey Mysterio. Mysterio was talking about how Eddie Guerrero pulled a funny one on him for giving him the # 2 entry when Randy Orton comes out. Orton challenges him for the # 1 Contendership at No Way Out. Orton was rippig into Eddie, saying that Eddie didn't go to heaven and that he was in hell, which led to Rey and Orton brawling.

*The Mexicools vs, MNM for the WWE Tag Team titles: Pretty good match with the ending coming with Melina hitting Super Crazy when he was on the top rope with her shoe.

*Booker T was scheduled to defend the United States title against Benoit but said he was to hurt to fight and Teddy Long told him he would have to find a replacement and if the replacement lost he would lose the belt too.

*JBL came out and cut a promo of how he is a wrestling God and stuck around for the next match...

*Lashley vs. The Dicks: Quick squash by Lashley pinned one of the Ddicks after a dominator. After the match, JBL hits Lashley with the clothesline from hell.

*The Undertaker came out for a promo saying how he would win the world heavyweight championship at No Way Out. Kurt Angle comes out and says there was no chance he would beat him. Taker tells him he will RIP at No way Out and then. On TV, he is supposed to "disappear" but live, it was funny as he just ran from the ring and went under the apron.

*Sharmell and Booker come out and say there replacement for the match against Benoit is....

*Finlay vs. Chris Benoit: Nice stiff match between the two...the chops sounded brutal. Benoit won by DQ when Sharmell came in and hit him with one of Booker T's crutches. Finlay and Booker rough up Benoit after the match.

*They announce that next week, Gregory Helms will defend the Cruiserweight title against Nunzio.

*Booker T and Sharmell were celebrating in the back when the Boogeyman shows up behind them and says he's coming to get them and eats worms as they run away.

*There is a segment with Palmer Canon talking about how William Regal and Paul Burchill no longer want to be Tag Team partners but I couldn't hear it that well.

*Main Event: Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio vs. Mark Henry and Randy Orton: Decent match, ended with Angle chasing Daivari through the crowd and Orton pinning Rey with a rollup. After the match Orton says he told Rey he could beat him and that his win at the Rumble was a fluke and Rey says in memory of Eddie he will put his shot at the title on the line at No Way Out against Orton. What did I say? Did I not say immediately after the Royal Rumble that Rey's #1 contendership would go on the line?

The fact they're already using Eddie as a prop is offensive but, in another way, I daresay Eddie himself wouldn't have cared. I realise it comes across as disrespectful, but bear in mind that Eddie was the kind of guy who was willing to do anything for the business.

I just hope that the WWE cleared this with Eddie's family first.

I'm sure they would of. Eddie's familiy and the McMahons have been close ever since he went to the WWE.

Sounds like a great show though.

Randy vs Rey will be great, and Taker vs Angle in the main event for the title is something fresh. Angle playing the Tweener role is very cool in my opinion.

Like the new feuds, JBL vs Lashley and Boogeyman vs Booker.

I'm a little unconvinced by the new ones, actually. What is JBL's motivation for attacking Lashley? And please, for the love of Christ, don't put the US Title on The Boogeyman!

Adding to your post, apparently Birchall said he was descended from pirates and wants to bring 'swashbuckling' to Smackdown. I'm serious, that's what I'm told.

I think we all know Eddie is NOT in hell.

But still...It's very cheap to use his death and resting place for heat...Probably extremely effective, but very cheap...

Sounds like a decent episode though.

eddie's memeory is already being used as a gimmick which IMO is disrespectful but to tarnish the man to get a fued going is tragic... however with that said it doesnt surprise me and as chris said, its blunted by the fact its eddie and i dont think he'd complain too much due to his love of the sport

im sure they cleared it with the Eddies family. Letting ray win the RR and have him lose the shot is the best of both IMO, reddie deserved the win but i dont think he can headline WM credably unless it is a triple threat

Good fued for lashley, dont care how silly its start (an unprovoked and lacking sense attack) because a fued against someone credible like JBL will help him... Orton V Rey is gonna be an awesome match

They have some history, in that Lashley beat JBL as a result of Boogeyman's interference a while back. It should be a good brawling match, and since JBL seems like he's in the mood to give people the rub, I figure Lashley can go over and get some credence.

JBL isn't my favourite wrestler, but he's a solid main-eventer and former champion. Having Lashley feud with him would be a great push for the youngster.

The only downside to the whole thing is that they just had JBL made into Boogeyman's bitch in under three minutes with one move. If Lashley takes longer it will reflect poorly on him.

Last night during the SmackDown taping in Orlando, Florida, Randy Orton came out to challenge Rey Mysterio for his number one contendership for the World Heavyweight Title that he earned by winning the Royal Rumble this past Sunday. Orton’s promo was extremely controversial as he ripped into Eddie Guerrero, saying that he didn’t go to heaven and that he went to hell. This caused the two to start brawling.

The initial reaction backstage was one of extreme anger and unhappiness. Some backstage said that WWE management hit an all-time low. The angle is of course being done to bring a massive amount of heat on Orton going into his match against Rey Mysterio at No Way Out.

Interesting that no one complained when we have seen Rey & Benoit using eddies death for weeks to push themselves, so when Orton does it, its wrong, i love it if its good for one it good for the other, just hope the Oron v Rey match at No Way Out, is a Hell in a cell match, or a casket match

Are you serious? On one hand you have real life friends of Eddie Guerrero paying tribute to his death in a positive light. On the other hand you had a guy who probably didn't know Eddie very well and uses it to get cheap heat. They're leagues apart.
