I haven't listened to JJJ since they started filling their playlist with hip hop, especially the tryhard Aussie stuff.

What I hate about JJJ is, I guess, what others love about them. They pick and choose which Australian bands to support based on whatever is "in" at the time. While I agree commercial radio is far, far worse at this, the fact that JJJ have started to do the same thing really grates.

Take some great Australian bands who JJJ just, for one reason or another, decided to completely ignore even though there were, for want of a better word, JJJ staples in years previous: Bodyjar, Area 7, Spiderbait, You Am I and so on and so on.

Whilst I don't want the playlist to stay stagnant - far from it - I just don't understand the new JJJ approach, which is far different from how they used to do things.

They have a playlist meeting whwere all dj's have a say in what new music they play to an extent.

I dont listen to the Radio at all for music...If Im forced to listen to the radio I'll listen to nova.

Maybe you need to actually listen to the station. Bodyjar still gets a regular run, so does Spiderbait - heard them both this week. Area 7 have not because they were utter sh*t.

Yet they are insanely rich and have made the best album of the 1990's (The Bends or OK Computer - take your choice) and the 2000's (Kid A). f**k I wish I was as big a nerd as them...

You dont have to like their music to appreciate what an awesome collection of songs is on that album.

Paranoid android, sub Homesick and Karma police would be the songs I'd imagine Floyd would be making if they were around now.

not many othe people that could get away with making music like them....only because they do it far better than all others.

Well they are certainly among the best in the commercial music world, but away from the spotlight there are hundreds of bands that wipe the floor with that stuff

C'mon Dev just cause you don't like 'em doesn't mean they aren't good at what they do.

I don't get into the scissor sisters but I think they are bloody good at doing what they do.
