ROOKIE Parramatta halfback Brad Murray is no longer a person of interest to police in their investigation into the suspicious betting plunge on last year's NRL Cowboys-Bulldogs game.
Just days after Canterbury forward Ryan Tandy was sacked for refusing to answer the club's questions regarding his betting activity, The Sun-Herald can reveal Murray has been cleared by the NSW Crime Command's Casino and Racing Investigation Unit.
Police spokesmen refused to comment but Eels CEO Paul Osborne confirmed that Murray was no longer a part of the investigation.
''We've been advised by police that he's not a person of interest,'' Osborne said yesterday.
