He'll be considered a miracle worker.

A great performance by Smithy even if they lose the big one.

Yeah definitely works wonders. He deserves to get a grandfinal win, too bad it wasn't while he was at parra.

Brian Smith is a great coach. However 10 years without a comp at Parra would make anyone stale.

I hope he jags the comp.

Will be interesting to see how Rothfield reacts if the Roosters win the comp after years of over the top sniping at Smith.

Lolll loudstrat he coached us to a grandfinal and our players got 'overwhelmed '. Hardly his fault. His obviously a good coach just look at what he's done for every club he's joined.

The wheels have turned... Bennett, Sheens and B Smith all that is left... Experience has come to the fore in 2010, and it is probably a season where the 16 sides have never appeared more equal.

I have always applauded Brian Smith's record. It is indeed under rated. Parra were a rabble of nothing before his arrival and he secured 2 minor premierships and a number of top four finishes in his ten year link. His record at Saints was one of over achievement, that they made the GF with Tony Smith & Noel Goldthorpe in the halves shows how much he could squeeze out of the lemon. And finally he scored a Newcastle team where their King only lasted a few games before being left with the biggest halfback vacancy in club history. He helped them avoid the spoon, a group of players that historically were like a toy with no batteries when Joey was out, enough said in my book.

Well done to the experienced three.

Smithy is a great coach, any club would want him to be honest. There are few better than him, he is unlucky not to have a premiership to his name.

Exactly. Not to mention his hate for Jason Ryles, who he predicted would be the worst buy of the season.

Good work Slothfield, keep up the great "Journalism".

To be fair, Rothfield has to earn money off something, even if it's raving on about useless crap.

I'd like to see him win it just to see the look on the face of that rosy cheeked spastic.

Great coach. Every team he has coached he has left in a better position than they were when he started.

I dunno what planet people in this thread are on but I sure as hell would not have Smith back at Parra and until he proves otherwise by winning a premiership he is, in my book, the king of the choke. I dont know of any other coach in history who has taken so many sides to the grand final and not won one friggin premiership.

Some who have played under him described their Grand Final day dressing room experience as being like visiting a funeral home.

Those people saying look what he done for this club and look what he done for that club, are we talking about the same Brian Smith here ? The best thing he did for Parra was pack his bags and F*** off out of the place, the place is still bears the scars of 10 years under his leadership !

One thing I would like to see is the Dragons play the Roosters in the GF, at least then someone is going to loose the choker tag and we will find out if the Dragons cursed Brian or if Brian cursed the Dragons, will be very interesting indeed, I reckon it will go to golden point if they meet !!
