No where have I tried to defend Morley or the fact that the tackle was high, but even Utai's coach claims it to be "a playful slap to the face" yet he went down like he was shot!! IE- he took a dive off he's own bat and he's a cat or he's been coached into taking dives.
I have simply asked for clarification on which is it and as yet none of you have answered that simple question.
Karmichael Hunt yesterday received an "actual" swinging arm against the dragons and suffered concussion, yet he made three times the effort to get back to his feet than what Catt Utai did. Except of course once Morley was sent off Catt jumped back to his feet pretty quickly
Personally I think Utai stayed down like the cat he is, I can't see folkes coaching his players to use dirty tactics. But then we only have to think back to the fiberglass shoulder pads...
Chook.
You asked if he was a cat or if he was coached to lie down.
Neither.
He was hit in the head by a thug with a problem.
It is the job of the Roosters to fix it.
He was not hit in the head. He was slapped in the shoulders and slipped up to the neck region. It deserved a penalty nothing more.
It's time to take the bulldog coloured glasses off and have a long hard look at reality.
Morley had a slight problem with his tackling style due to his height when he first started playing in Australia, it was rectified by the coaching staff.
He is now being penalised upon suspicion by refs guilty of discrimination. He had been placed on report twice this season, neither time was he charged with anything.
On one occasion against Canberra he did a great hit on someone where he hit them around the shoulders and the ref penalised him because they now associate any big hit on the upperbody by Morley with a high hit.
He has now been reported twice and sent off once this season with no charges being laid against him. That smacks of prejudicial refereeing to me.
There is now evidence that Morley is being targeted for high tackles by other teams because they can get away with it and he is too tough not to stay down when hit high.
It's a disgrace and if it drives one of toughest forwards playing today back to England it will be a bad day for the NRL.
