It's there for all to see.........News Ltd didn't care about the game but cared about what they could milk from it. Obtaining a stake in the running of the game and acquiring the rights to televise it for less than it deserves.....

Surprise, surprise......but it was all about the good of the game, right?

Without league, the Daily Telegraph wouldn't sell and without league, Foxtel wouldn't sell either....

About time people finally wake up to reality....

I remember that Moldova were going to be the new super power of rugby league. It would appear that things didn't quite go as planned...

From Wikipedia The Moldova national rugby league team first competed into international competition in 1993. Moldova has not competed internationally since the 1995 Emerging Nations World Cup. Rugby league is no longer played in Moldova and while there were attempts to revive the national team for a tournament in 2003 (likely based on Russian players of Moldovan descent and Moldovan rugby union players) the team failed to materialise. It is doubtful whether the team will ever play again

Don't get me started on Ribot.....once a front rower, once a winger, once a Super League spearhead.....forever a tool.

these are the financial statements of news corporation :

http://quicktake.morningstar.com/StockNet/Income10.aspx?Country=USA&Symbol=NWS.A

can someone please point me to the section where ownership of our game is recorded.

the founding fathers of RL in australia would be turning in their graves to learn that which they worked so hard to establish ended up as a minor footnote in a multi national media empire

just a little trophy for murdoch to add to his collection

Superleague had nothing to do with tv or newspapers, it was all because of Manly and the way we kept winning all those premierships in the late 80's and early 90's.

The ARL could have prevented the SL war but they gave into Kerry Packer and shot themselves in the foot.
