Saints fans? I heard Cassie is coming across.
Can't comment much on the test because we didn't get it until late in Melbourne so I missed it. At least they drew a reasonable crowd. Personally I don't think that the concept of a World XIII would work. It never really has before.
Good luck with the new forum.
Cheers

lol, Legend, too late, those StG guys are already here and straight into upsetting people, I want that thread where willow raised the 1977 GF between Saints and eels deleted as I think it is in poor taste and derogatory, acertain moderator from another forumwould have had that off in a flash. LOL

As for Gav & Ozbash being moderators, classic case of putting the inmates in charge:eek:)
Seriously though, I've always enjoyed their posts, Gav, being a Roads Skolar (sic) shows insightfull intellect and linguistic ability and Ozbashtotally cracks me up with his cheeky humour. At least we can be assured of freedom of speech.

BTW Legend, where's all the girdler is hot posts, I really miss them:eek:(

Welcome Bigbopper. I hope you enjoy the forum.

Rasputin, Willow is actually one of the easier ones to get along with and hopefully for your sake you will only have wait about another two months and then you can bask in the glory of premiership number five. I am a raiders fan first and foremost but I have a big softspot for Parra so I am hoping they do well, any way any Parra fan i've ever met is big enough and ugly enough to fight their own battles.lol

The Kiwis failed in two areas; 1. Support play, 2. Pushed passes. These two areas do interact but they were shown up in these areas last night. I don't think David Solomona is suited to international football, i dont even know what he was trying to do in the first half. 16 points is not that far behind with 50 minutes to go but the kiwis were paying like there was only 10 minutes to go.

This has to fall on Garry Freemans shoulders, he is not a proven coach at the top level. It's too early to bring Daniel Anderson in so, in the short term, NZ has massive problems.

I see we have a few new recruits in the making. If Ozbash is a moderator does that means that anything goes??!! Anyway theres nothing wrong with a couple of kidney shots every once in a while.

Legend - Because this site is hosted by MSN does that mean the conduct rules are the same as WORL?

Yeah, the rules are pretty much the same but with me, Gav and Ozbash, weare pretty liberal and easygoing. We will let anybody know when they have overstepped the mark. I am assuming we are all adults so most will know anyway. I honestly think this page should pretty manage itself.

Tigger, good to see the Tigers get a win but almost snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Still it's worth two points.

Have a good day all, i'm off to the footy.

The fact is, that at the moment this forum is not going to have too many troubles. Over times it is probably inevitable that it will sufferat thehands of "gatecrashers". However at the moment, it feels like we are secluded in the Alps (I know I said the Carribean before). But my point is that we are in a little hideaway, free from all the in-fighting, politics and hijacking that took place back in WORL.

Keep this site going forward.

Cheers.

G'day all, I'm new to this forum, should be a good forum, I hope none of you mind that I am an Rleague webmaster, I'm not going to bring across anyone from the WORL forums, I am just hear to chat to people who I know from reading their posts and talking to before will at least give constructive critism if they don't agree with me.

Anyway onto the Kiwis, I feel the bringing back of the 3 test series is a must, and something must be done to make the Kiwis feel that they can win. They have been brought up thinking no one can beat Australia, which isn't true, and it just causes problems when they run onto the field.

Another idea is a NZ Origin series, say Auckland Vs Canterbury or Wellington

Yak, why would any of us mind if you wish to post on this forum? You are more than welcome here.

I would like to see a three Test series or perhaps another benefit might be to introduce an NRL based Kiwi side into the Origin series.

Or more likely, North Island v South Island. Then again an Auckland v The Rest showdown would probably hold more weight because aside from the fact Auckland are much stronger than the rest of N.Z. everybody in the Shakey Isles hates Auckland's guts.

Cheers.

Gav. That was tried in 1997 via the Tri-Series. It dodn't work.

State of Origin is NSW v Queensland. It is the rivalry that goes back to when they were seperate colonies that makes it so incredible.

We need to play more Tests against the Kiwis- but having them in the Origin would not only hurt Origin, but it would devalue the Tests.

Cheers.

yak, glad you could get here.
i dont think this site was created as direct competition to W.O.R.L., more of an alternative.
we are not putting pressure on anyone to join and i think you will find a few of the members are regular contributors on W.O.R.L..
anyway, good to see you......

Welcome Hass and Yakstorm.

Ozbash, you hit the nail directly on the head. I am still an active member of WORL and have taken Stevens approach. My aim is to make the most out of both sites and will continue to enjoy both. I am not in competition with Matt and as Ozbash said this site is merely an alternative.

Legend - I have made the choice to follow Balmain reserve grade & JF now. I go to watch them play rather than Wests. Remember that post you put up a couple of months ago, i think it was named "Why we are running 10th"????

It was your email to Canberra expressing you opinion & the Weasel's gave you a two line reply! The same thing happened to me last week. I was at Balmain League's Club (taking advantage of cheap bourbon) & went over to the football club. I asked a couple of question's about who holds our NRL licence (Western Suburb's or Balmain) & others...the girl told me to email my questions & she would pass them on to the CEO.....

So i did, & he replied but didn't answer the questions! So i replied back asking him the questions again about what was going on with merging our reserve grade team & jersey flegg..... I have not had a reply.

I think i will be supporting Newtown if Balmain disappear into the Wests franchise.

A pre-requisite for CEO's these days is to be as political as possible. They are stupid to beleive so long as they send you an e-mail that will suffice. I have had several dealings with the Raiders and I found the best way to get a response was to sit down and send a letter to the club. For some reason when I did that I had Peter Chapman ring me at home.wPeter is the media manager for the Raiders and is a good bloke and he wanted to discuss all the issues I had raised in the letter and then he invited me down to meet the players after the match against the Tigers which was played in the snow. It was a great experience and I had photos taken with Daley, Meninga, Lazzo, Furner, Mullins, Volcano and they were all great blokes.
