Coach not happy.
People are saying Cleary doesn't make a dent in SOO. And people are saying Nicho doesn't make a dent in the NRL.

Coach was all about honesty last week.
It was the buzzword.

But this week after Cleary plays 80 minutes and loses another SOO decider, coach decides he will defend his performance.

A couple of things coach:
1. Nice move. Presser question was about Hynes but you drew a comparison to Cleary. You went to great lengths to explain how Cleary is an out and out champion and is above this criticism. By doing so you cleverly drew a parallel to Hynes and that the criticism of him is also totally wrong.
Putting him in the same category as cleary for the uninformed.

2. Back to the honesty coach. You're wrong. Cleary hasn't lived up to expectations in SOO. He's one of 17. As was Ricky Stuart. Joey Johns. Mitch Moses.
He has not got the job done at that level unlike those 3. Nobody asked about his exploits at Penrith and in all honesty nobody asked about his exploits in SOO.
They asked about Hynes.
Nice deflection.

Nuffies turn away.

Kafusi.
Nikorima
Bostock.
Flegler.
Nichols.
The Hammer.
Fuller, the hammers replacement.
Gilbert.
Plath.
Saifiti.

Pretty much their starting side on the bench injured.

That last night was dolphins worst performance of the year.
When we went 80 metres on our first set and the 7 got caught with the ball on the last on pretty much his first set, the writing was on the wall.

On one hand that wasn't the game we wanted - as it just creates a an illusion that we're back baby and the 7 has rediscovered his game.

Yet on the other hand that was the game we wanted - as it got us 2 points and we found a win which will propel us back up the table.

In honesty, Coach adopted a top 4 side. A side that belonged at the pointy end and all it needed was a few tweaks to go to that next level.
After 3 years of coaches tweaks, and lack of, the RL world has seen us on the slide where we are now, in all honesty (good word that) a middle of the table side.

The dolphins were shit last night. Absolute tripe.
Yet a couple of freakish plays by individuals got them within Toby's fingernail of beating our full strength outfit.

Nichos back!
Really. Running downhill against a severely depleted outfit he does what he's supposed to do....when in all 'honesty'....we should have put 40 on that mob. 26 nil at the break at least.

I dont normally watch the panel on Kayo but had it on last night and heard a couple of interesting comments by James Graham, Alexander and Kevvie.

Pre-game: to a man they all made the same comment about our halves. None of them can work out which is 6 and which is 7 and who controls the side from one week to the next. They all agreed that as hynes has the 7 on his back it should be him but this is not the case, and needs to be. Coach stated before the game in an interview the side is not balanced.
They all picked up on that and said this is exactly what they mean.
Until this shitshow is corrected we will continue this slide on coaches watch. He has hitched his wagon to hynes as 7, who like cleary in SOO is not making a dent on the competition. He did something against a weakened side last night - a million dollar man then needs to back this up against a full strength roosters next week.
How he plays next week will be his legacy for 2025. Can he keep us in the 8?

Post-game:
Graham spoke about Braileys runs. 5 or 6 straight through the middle. The dolphins did not turn up last night and if that was Harry Grant, Paps wouldve scored 50 points and the storm wouldve racked up 100.
Graham said those runs mean nothing if nobody is in support.
Every time braily goes there are 3 men he said who should be with him.
The 1.
The 6.
The 7.
Out of 6 runs of approx 20 metre only on one occasion did he find a support. Trindall.

'Honestly', I'll take the 2 points. But last night did nothing to instill any confidence in me that we'll make the 8.

This , I was saying to the sandwich maker last night that if brailey played for the storm he would be nsw and Australian hooker and papenhuyzen would be trailing him all night
