I believe that there is a God and that there is an ‘after-life’…
If any of you want to chat about this, just DM me.
Not trying to hijack this thread - but news like this rocks all of us.
Don’t hate on me, Quigsy…
I don't hate on anyone Bluey.... except maybe Donkey's, Dargon Red V-ers, bloody Tories and Trumpist.

Good on ya for being one of faith that is your prerogative, moi, I am a happy non delusionalist.

Vale Matt Frenzy. Thats how his number is in my phone. If his family reads this I'm probably in his phone with a name that sounds like beefy. First met him close 23 years ago now & we would catch up most home games when I could attend.
20 years ago when the internet was new & social media hadn't gained steam, this forum was the online place to hang out, read up on all things Sharks, & cause as much shit as possible. All in the name of humour. He'd be at his house & me at mine , prob both on the piss, & conspiring behind the scenes to cause as much myrth as possible with the other forum members, just for the nights entertainment. I cant rememember how many times he made me laugh.
His knowledge on footy & especially injuries , was top shelf. Probably because hed had every injury known to mankind.
We started the forum awards many years ago & he kept it going every year.
We spoke plenty of how our club will never win a premiership, & then out of nowhere , we f^&*en did & Im so glad he got to see that.
He was El Jefe , the big cheese, numero uno, The chief but mostly , he was the Captain, our Captain, of us group of online weirdo Sharks Tragics.
it wont be the same around here thats for sure.
CYA Mat, thanks for your banter, knowledge, insights, rumours, pisstakes & mostly, your friendship. I hope you checkout with dread locks in place and surrounded in Black White & Blue.

Not a big poster, always here though, have been since the naughties in the other forums.

When I did post, the most interaction I got back was usually from Frenz - maybe it was the spreadsheets and such. I did feel a sense of common interest there - never formalised though.

While I never knew the guy personally, I just shed a tear for him and his family, and raised a beer for someone who's opinion I respected, and engaged with his online thoughts almost daily.

All the best to his family and friends. R.I.P

Thank you, brother.
You and he were the ones who hooked me in to here in the first place, and saw how I was as twisted as you both and took me in.
Edit: it was actually the original Sharks forum on their website that I saw, transferred to here via the old Grandstand forum.

I found this thread quite shocking when I first saw it. I didn't agree with all his views but I certainly did a lot of them.

I always admired his directness and his knowledge of the game and club was very deep.

Away from the footy threads I was also quite impressed at his cooking prowess.

Vale Frenz.

I have passed on your post mate.

Have been asked to let you know they have seen it and appreciate it. When my brother first got in the forums Matt told him that the bloke to listen to is you and the games he attended with you and Matt were the best nights.

thank you mate

Speaking with the K-man yesterday and reminiscing on Frenz,
I said
"this place won't die without him, but he certainly kept it alive"

And youse will have to excuse me tonight. I was too in shock to raise a beer for him yesterday so I saved it for tonight, it's also my b'day so I made sure I only have 3 in the fridge so I don't go off the reservation so to speak.
Happy birthday mate

The fact is the forum as most of us know it doesn't recover from this.
Frenz was a cornerstone and a feature in every thread.
And that has gone.

Life goes on.
The Sharks go on so the forum goes on, but like Happy Days without The Fonz, its a lesser product.

This forum is not always about football and quite often not about football at all.
Even when its about football its the characters and the humour and barbs which make it what it is.

Time is marching on and many of the characters who made it easily the best football forum out there have moved on for different reasons.

A new generation of posters and supporters hopefully move in and breath a new and evolving life into it, but for me what gave this place its true essence was the input and perspective from those supporters who watched football through the 70s, 80s and 90s - and more importantly - those of us who experienced those amazing Shark years of that time frame.
The legendary sharks players of that era, combined with the heartbreak and near misses, bonded us closer in a way no other club would understand.
And that 50 years of torment and disappointment are the foundation for the solidarity and humour of this place.

We lost a good one and reading through these posts Frenz was more than a fellow sharkie to many on here.
He was a friend. He was a mate. He was generous. He had the nicknames. The profiles, the spreadsheets. The knowledge.
The point of view. The barbs.
What he brought is gone and it wont be replaced and the forum wont be the same.

He left a mark.
As people on this planet we cant ask more than that.

Yep. Had a brain tumour removed 18 months ago and Frenzy was always PMing me with info and links on the surgery and recovery. Was so helpful to me at a tough time. You are right, it has hit hard for sure

Also...he will be loving the fact we are up to 4 pages already for him lol. Bloody showponey

I don't think new posters will come in like the old days. The kids are on instagram, facebook, twitter etc talking Sharkies. Back when we found this place none of that was around. Remember when the Sharks fan wrote about how the Roosters were over the cap and rleague basically died and we all just moved over here?

Eventually this long form will go the way of the dinosaurs. Hope I am wrong. It is funny go at look at how active this forum is and compare it to other clubs. Frenzy was a huge, huge part of that. Debating, shit talking, having a laugh. Huge hole.

When BBB messaged me the other morning I just knew. I even said this is about Frenzy isn't it. So sad. I have been thinking about death a lot lately as so many have left us the last few years. Wonder what happens. Frenzy would probably write a smart arse joke about it.

He often would say to me,
"I've got such a soft spot for that little K"
All to do with your original meet up.
