Something that really scared me on Sunday

I know we are all upset how Sheens took too long to shift Moltzen to halfback and Benji back to the number 6. But something scared me more.

The Channel Nine commentators mentioning Lawrence maybe not ending up in the centres. Gould was on the keep him out there where he can score tries. But the commentators seemed to be alluding to a move into the second row due to his size.

That sounds scary because it is exactly the type of bullsh*t move Sheens would try. He would lose alot of his advantage in the forwards and would have to be more involved in the hard work of tackling and hitting the ball up.

Yes he is strong and a good defender, but he is perfect in the centres and will be one of the best in the game for many years. His speed and strength combine well in that spot, and out wide he has extra space to work with that makes him so effective.

I bloody hope he stays out in the centres.

Your thoughts?

Sheens was hinting in the pre season that lawrence would become a five eighth. I think he played a trail game as a number 6.

I don't know if there's actually a sport for him in the back row tbh, which gives us some relief from that concept.

Maybe a backrower by the time he's 25... Depends what we've got to put into centre in his place. But that's never stopped King Tim before.

Teflon Tim and his tinkering..... lets just hope nothing comes of it (either the 5/8 or backrow thoughts)- Lawrence is a good, strong centre- why on earth should we weaken ourselves in 1 area to shift to another position WT are not in any way weak in? We have backrowers coming out the grass out there thanks to Teflon- we dont need another.

Here's hoping Teflon is gone at seasons end, if not, only 1 more season. The trouble is I fear WT just might do the usual final 8 'just miss out on' bit and all the forgivers and Teflon fan brigade will be out in force to give him a hurrah and 'what bad luck' get out of goal / responsbility bit again. You could see that after 1 damn win.......... howabout all the losses due to his intrasigence in not shifting players back to their true positions and dropping under performers until too late and the season is all but gone. How would we be if he had actually bit the bullet 5/6 weeks beforehand? A lot better in the NRL ranks I bet.

Seems to me he's more interested in turning out quality players than a decent team.

Well, at least the WT website and that damn Cousins have stopped calling Teflon the WT 'mentor' and gone back to head coach. God, that mentor bit annoyed me.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!! we finally unearth & develop a world class centre and now the push is on for him to be moved to the second row NOT HAPPY TIM dont even think of tinkering with this talent you tool. leave him out wide to terrorise the opposition woth his defense and speed.......

Lawrence would be a disaster in the 6, case in point-Jarryd Hayne.

Keep him in the 4, it's where he does all his damage.

Lawrence at 5/8th in that trial was the single worst performance from a FG footballer I've ever seen. Simply no idea whatsoever what to do apart from run straight into a hole. Which he is very good at. So why stop it.

Considering Moltzen seems to have made a permanent move to the halves I wouldn't mind seeing Lawrence at fullback.

yeah i wouldn't mind seeing him at fullback either but in saying that mighty mouse deserves the spot and it would make our backline weaker without chris's defence

Leave him where he is. As soon as we have a decent halfback to give the team some direction, he will get more quality ball and points will flow.

Because these days coaches have no idea so they play their best attacking outside back at 6. Inglis, Hayne, Gasnier, etc. Every single one has been a flop.
