So here's the deal: SW15 will be held over 2 days in each city - Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. #SW15

It's the light run to get to the other stages that gets me. Less of that means less tiredness

Personally I'm too old, too poor and too busy to give a whole weekend to it. Besides which it's rained at every SW I've been to. The fields at the end of the day are muddy bogs. 2 days of it will be absolutely filthsome.

Not very metal of me I guess but now that Maddah will be pitchforking every JJJ and MMM electronic pop dance Euro boogie and "Aussie Hip Hop" act that used to rule the BDO roost into the mix, Soundwave won't be very metal either.

Apparently only a limited amount of tickets will be available to be used for both days.

If you can't get one of those, you have to get tickets for both days separately.

Yeah but how many is limited. I await the details. Also can you sell or give away the 2nd day if the lineup named and the 2nd day is rubbish? So before getting excited or rubbishing the idea I will wait

The festival being over 2 days doesn't mean they are going to have twice the number of great acts.

In all likelihood they'll have the same number of great acts they would have had in a single day, they'll just toss in a bunch more filler bands to make up the gaps.

Awesome news. I've been to Download in the UK which is over 3 days and it was the best festival i've been to.

Can't wait to see how it's scheduled and the line-up

The acts that will travel to festivals in europe and the US compared to Australia are quite different though.

Hopefully they manage to get the acts in to make it worthwhile. They'll need a lineup with as many headliners as the 2013 Soundwave then they could conceivably host it over 2 days, but anything less than that and it will basically just be 2 mediocre festivals running over consecutive days.

AJ said it was so bands had less clashes and can play longer sets.

He never mentioned a bigger line up so I assume it may not drag out from say 11 AM to 10 PM. A bigger line up will cost him more and the ticket price is to remain the same at $185 plus a booking fee, or $110 per day.

In recent years we have lost great bands over too many bands wanting to play after dark. This new set-up also gives us twice the dark!

Looks like they are going to start much later on in the day.
