Ok guys,

looks like AJ the promoter of Soundwave is leaving cryptic clues around facebook, twitter and the Soundwave Revolution website as to what exactly this event is.

here are sites:

http://www.facebook.com/soundwaverevolution?ref=ts

http://www.soundwaverevolution.com

So far some bands have announced themselves and AJ has since announced them on Facebook

Te bands announced so far are: (ill be adding bands as they are announced so keep your eyes out)

Four Year Strong
The Swellers
This Providence
Young Guns
The Terrible Things
We Are The Ocean
Story Of The Year
Madina Lake
The Acacia Strain
Whitechapel
Every time i die
The Damned Things
Skindred
In This Moment
HellYeah
We are the in crowd
The Word Alive
The Dangerous Summer
Set Your Goals
Zebrahead
Hellogoodbye
Sum 41
Black Veil Brides
The Devin Townsend Project
Steel Panther
D.R.U.G.S
Times of Grace
Funeral For A Friend
Unearth
Yellowcard
Holy Grail

One major clue was numbers backwards which have been figured out to be a date: 24/09/2011 meaning this Revolution is happening in September.

Its still up in the air what this is (looking like ANOTHER soundwave this year) but it seems bands are starting to leak...so time will tell soon enough

AJ has said out of these bands A Day To Remember, Panic! At The Disco, Flyleaf and The Used that one band will be on SW12 and one will be on SWRevolution.

Other bands rumoured for Revolution (Specultaion so far)

Motley Crue
Poison
Rancid
Bad Religion
A Perfect Circle
The Dangerous Summer (announced)
Blink 182 (as always)
Story Of The Year (announed themselves on their twitter)
The Descendents
Funeral For A Friend
Yellowcard
Man Overboard
Steel Panther
All Time Low

All these rumours are based on cd releases and bands announcing they will be here later in the year or 'in september'

Many thought it was touted as a 'Metal' festival but now apparently AJ has said its going to span many genres but mostly Punk/Scene and old school punk

I hope he doesn't diversify too much, we dont need another BDO.

BDO has some pretty good metal bands but you have to sit though some crap bands while you're waiting for the good ones, while every band at Soundwave rocks.

i dont think itll be like big day out, but bands that are still classified punk metal etc but also have other elements to it as well. rocky and indie type sh*t to it like La Dispute (punk/indie)

but he has balls to be able to pull this off thats for sure

I guess No Sleep wont be back then, if SWR is just going to jump on any possible touring bands. Wonder if this was all a way to fight off competition?

The way I heard it, No Sleep made a big loss and wouldn't have been back regardless. Don't know how reliable that is, just what I heard.

No Sleep was comfortably the best festival/concert i've been to, loved it, but it would've been hard to top that bill again anyway I guess.

Bad Religion? Descendents? Rancid?

Can't see all those three together on the same bill unless it was the Warped Tour. If I had a choice it'd be Rancid hands down.

I also heard a rumor about Body Count for SW2012. I'd love to see them for two reasons; first, I played the sh*t out of the self-titled album when I was 14 and second I want to witness Ice-T sing (laughs) "Cop Killer". And while we're on bands that helped pioneer the "rap-metal" genre; LIVING COLOUR PLEASE!

Dont reckon the Descendents will ever be back in Australia, let alone so soon.

I love Bad Religion, would happily see them again.

Rancid should do that one album deal and just play And Out Come The Wolves, and songs earlier than that

Let's Go is easily Rancids best imo. but you're def right about older Rancid songs.

Of course I would love to see BR again, make up for all those years of not coming haha.

Nath, we need to get the promoter to get Deviates to reform and get them to come to SW. that would make my life.

yeah i think Descendents are being rumoured just because its 'old school punk' festival mostly. but i have a list id like to see at the festival or even just come out soon

Bad Religion
Rancid (...and out come the wolves)
The Vandals
Lagwagon
Bad Brains (were meant to come out with SW a couple years ago but pulled out in 08)
Ignite (Zoli from Pennywise's other band)
Deviates (reform please)
Teenage Bottlerocket
Swingin' Utters
The Flatliners
The Lawrence Arms

so many bands under the 'punk' genre id love to see come out or reform seriously!

but other genre bands wchich would be cool also

Foo Fighters (Rumoured)
A Perfect Circle (That way Josh could bring out Vandals aswell ;P)
The Damned Things
Every Time I Die

so many bands that id love to see that would fall under the soundwave genres to get to their festivals haha

I don't know any of those confirmed bands.............. though I'm more of a metal head than punk/indie.

The rumoured ones........ well I can't say I would fly down from NQ to Brissy for them, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone going to it.

yeah i only know 2 of the confirmed bands....another rumoured band is Weezer aswell

System of a Down are rumoured too

i can see alot of metal lovers being sh*tty if they leave out metal bands.

but Soundwave this year was majority metal anyway so i think a more punk show is fitting actually

Yeah it sh*t all over Soundwave, especially as far as organization and such goes.

This looks pretty ordinary so far tbh.

I've heard that One Day As A Lion got such a high billing at SW11 so that Rage Against The Machine would be out here to headline SWR, but don't hold me to that.
