Enjoyed them making fun of the let's play/streaming gaming craze. There are some decent mmo gaming streamers out there but most of them are just rubbish. It still boggles my mind people actually donate money to some of these guys.

Yeah, it was hilarious - but there's plenty of legitimate reasons for let's plays and streaming beyond pure entertainment (although I don't feel it's any different to watching sport whatsoever - especially for pro e-sports coverage). I often watch let's plays to work out if I want to buy a game, or to get gameplay/strategy tips.

I don't find the donations that unusual, a lot of streamers are very good at connecting with their audience. I'm subscribed to quite a few, although I haven't dipped into my pockets yet, I certainly would. I guess some people are in the "I'll only pay for something if I have to" camp, and then there's others in the "happy to pay for something that adds value to my life" camp... or possibly the "I know how hard it is to make a living doing what you love" camp, even. I categorize these sorts of donations similarly to "pay what you want" album releases.

I don't have any issue with the let's plays, they're good value and a worthwhile watch if you're interested in a particular game. Also good value if, like you said, you need tips.

The streamers just streaming every day shit and casually chatting about what they're doing in-game are the types of streams I had in my mind, I don't find them appealing whatsoever. Every now and again you hear talk of a popular stream doing something exciting enough to be an event and it's fun to tune in for that, but I still wouldn't spend a cent on it personally.

Of course, any interest also depends on the game being streamed. Honestly though I'd prefer just to watch TV shows/movies or listen to music instead.

Saving it for tomorrow (well, today). Looking forward to it based on all the holograms they've been posting on their FB...
