Parramatta Stadium is the GRAVEYARD for visiting team. Eels nine straight and adding to a VERY IMPRESSIVE home ground record.
Three trial wins, three from five in the NRL in 2004.. Bloody lucky though if you listen to the Press.

Don't sya that Ron. You see, people are gonna whinge no matter what. Micky V could run for 200+ and they would still bag him because Wags didn't pass the ball and because Petersen should be on the wing.

Someone has to say it.

You would never bag any of them.
Because if you did, they might not talk to you behind the grandstand after the game.
Come on. Open your friggin eyes for a change and stop being such a suck.

Vella was very solid today. Good solid hit-ups and some really big hits in defense too which we haven't seen for some time.

He seems to play really well when we're at home but then goes missing when we're on the road. Hopefully he can reverse that trend next weekend against Manly at Brooky.

Not that I really give a toss about trial form cause it means Jack Shite, but who did we play in those trials and how are they going so far this season???

Forget the trials......please!!!

I think Vella finally became a "real" prop in that game against the Broncos. He kept getting smashed by Webke but kept getting up and going at him again. It was good to see him have keep it up against Newcastle the next week and hammer Ben Kennedy. Until then, he seemed to like running at the little blokes and avoid the big ones, smart but not real inspirational.

Souths played ok today, their defence was very poor at stages but then so was ours. I still think they're gonna give a lot of sides a shake up this season.

I don't know how you can say Souths got the 50/50 calls, they were on the short end of a fair few calls themselves, sure we had the questionable no try, but personally I'd say the video ref swayed towards souths there just because of the stuff up the play before where they stripped the ball but hayne called our possession so they had to let it go.

I'd say the calls in the end evened out for both sides, but Hayne didn't have a happy game. In the end our goalline defense tightened up slightly while theirs was very soft, that's what made the difference.

I reckon Vella would be close to rep honours this year...he's been a gun in a pretty average side.

Armit needs more game time though.....Brian might be trying to ease into firsts?.....don't no??

btw

HJ did you get to the Oak's after the game??.....sorry i left in a hurry but i had to get home to attend to some issues.

I can visualise Leuluai and Donnelly (not to mention Haumono) putting on great hits.

But the great news is that Heckenberg is just as lazy as he always was. I haven't seen one great game from him yet.
