Souths Release Ben Rogers to Dragons

In breaking news, South Sydney has given utility Ben Rogers permission to leave his current contract and join the St. George Illawarra Dragons for the rest of 2008.

Why would the dragons want him???

Don't know? Wouldn't think that he would get near the halves as Soward and Hornby seem to be doing ok. Lock maybe? If anything, I would have thought the Dogs might have jumped on him as he is a marginally better proposition in the halves than Holdsworth IMO and with their injury crisis he could have come in handy for them for the rest of the year.

Soward and Hornby will retain their places in the halves for sure. Dragons have Rangi Chase as a suitable backup for an injury for them as well. There is also the potential for the Kennedy brothers to step up if needed. The only possible position for Rogers looks at lock but he will have to replace another south sydney buy in webb to get that position. Just confuses me te way the dragons recruit, they would be better off making saving their money and waiting to buy a bigger name player for next year.
