Souths sides for 2006

Initial talks with the Sharks management are progressing well as apparently Richo is willing to release him on the condition that they do a Brett Firman and pay out his contract, Souths are hoping for a big year and I think that they can have it and when they do they are banking on snagging a VERY high quality half that has yet to resign for 07, and a fullback that would be the Coo of the century.

Well the contract gets signed on Monday so sorry babe.

Full swap . Minni to sharks and Bailey to Souths.
Roosters couldn't possibly afford him.

I'd look to replace L MacDougall by mid season if he doesn't sign a new contract. Mini, well he can bugger off now because the team needs solid players, not blokes who fire 1 out of every 4 games and are always high in the NRL dropped ball stats. Heggarty is handy with the offloads but his running across field is too much of a liability. I won't be surprised if Sutton is trialled at lock, with Champo moving to his preferred position of 5/8. I expect that the forwards are going to have a fight trying to hold down their first grade spot all year long, unlike what we've seen (or haven't seen) since 2001. Nelson and Fa'alogo to both have very solid seasons. McPherson to get more time and Boston to be called up. Next year should be great to watch regardless of final placings on the ladder. I'd love to see Hanbury given a real chance and not be dicked around like he is, but I can't see that happening.

I honestly think Ben Rogers will push hard for a spot in first grade next year. He's still only young (20 I think), but he has great potential, and his games for Penrith showed that he definitely has the skill to play at NRL level. I was really disappointed that we let him go actually, but the Bunnies will definitely give him more opportunities.

And if Galuvao can stay fit, he will be a valuable asset to your engine room.

I cant reveal my sources but they are looking for a different flavour from Sullivan and his been promised an opportunity as a specialists hooker.

If you mean at the Sharks I think your source may of been misled. The Sharks have signed Tevita Latu AND Kevin Kingston.

Deal has fallen through due to mini @ the last minute deciding that he wanted more.

I think your hooker Trent Young has great potential. He played up here in the Queensland Cup for the Easts Tigers last season and was fantastic. I'm actually suprised that he hasn't played more games for Souths this year.

Has a great running game and comes up with some pretty useful kicks too. I would seriously be looking at grooming this guy to become a long term player in the hooking position.

I agree with you on that, but I think that while Ben Walker is playing half back, Shane will have a leg up on the starting hookers role just due to the ease with which the brothers seem to communicate with each other on the field

I also agree with that. I thought he showed great potential and the more games he played the better and more confident he became.
