Irony is that 2V would've blown as big a gasket if a similar Souths "try" had been awarded under the same circumstances. Suck it up silvertards.

Um no. The try was obvious as f**k therefore wouldn't of had a problem with a try given to souths. I was at the game and even the Souths fans looked puzzled when the no try was given.

My apologies... I didn't realise that try lines were now painted in Braille.

Time to follow a sport where you actually know the rules bud. This game seems way to confusing for you.

lol... moanly should learn the rules to avoid conceding penalties.

Hopefully, the upgrade to brookvale oval will include field markings in Braille for you, Stevie.

It is now about 10am Monday. I have heard nothing about Toovey getting any sort of a fine.

Is a decision to fine him now unlikely ?

The only thing that can be seen touching the line is the arm carrying the ball. For some unknown reason, this is not regarded as a try. It should be, in my view. With the rules as they stand, there is no vision of the ball itself touching the ground on or over the line.

Pretty sure it used to be (happy to be corrected though).

How come nobody on this forum and the media was blowing up when Billy Slater got a wrongful penalty last week for a legitimate tackle and that turned into a try awarded on the other side of the field where the ball was blatantly lost.

Funny, Souths fans just copped it as something that happens, you win calls and you lose calls. Moanly fans on here are calling for a review of the entire refereeing administration and saying the whole game was fixed against them cause they didn't award a try where nobody anywhere saw the ball over the line. Get the f**k over it, you guys are wrong. The better team won.

So because you realise that Manly getting penalised was perfectly reasonable and Matai's no try was fair you only have being a Bears fan to attack. Fair enough I guess

Well there's always the Chicago Cubs avatar........

The Cubs have not won the World Series in 104 years, the longest Championship drought of any major North American professional sports association and are often referred to as the "Lovable Losers" because of this distinction.

At least they're lovable. What was Norths excuse? :p:oops:

i'm confused... how was this was not a try?

That's a try every day of the week. The worst part about it was Perenara calling it a no try in the first place. Have a look where he is in the footage and tell me how the f**k he could see that it was conclusively a no try or even a try for that matter?

With the new rules, do the on field refs have to give there opinion to the video ref one whether they think it's a try or not? If so then how can they make an informed ruling either way when the play is obscured like it appears to be in this instance?

At a guess I would say the touchie told him that he thought it was no try and to check it

As a cowboys fan, seeing the video refs f**king manly over makes me happy on the inside like nothing else does. At least they can be thankful it hasn't ended their season.

Yes, I AM still bitter about last year.

The supposed error was not made by the video ref. The supposed error was made by the on field ref. He is the one who calls it a no try. The video ref simply could not find an angle which shows the ball touching the line and I am still yet to see one either tbh. The arm carrying the ball touches the line but the arm carrying the ball is not part of the ball and the rule clearly states that it is the ball that needs to touch the ground.

yep.

With no vision of the ball actually hitting the stripe it couldnt be overturned.
