I think the concept of a leadership group is valid. A group of blokes with a mixture of experience, influence and status within the club who will set the standard for the younger players to look up to, to consult with on any problems, and aspire to in regards to training, preparation and behaviour. Of course, there are always going to be dismissive smart arses around here who will bang on about the actual composition of the Souths leadership group and ignore the purpose of the exercise.
The rotation of the on-field captaincy is a joke though. Pick 1 general, the rest should be lieutenants.
